  1. Just got off the 8 day Dream Christmas cruise. Sadly, I witnessed several behavior incidents from teens on this cruise as well. Spitting on other guests in the atrium, stealing/destroying door decorations and sexually harassing young (preteen?) girls. That's just what I personally saw. I did speak up for the young girls and told those punks to leave them alone. The FB group has many other people relating incidents but I'm only speaking of what I saw.

So Sorry about your broken foot! Did you ever report it on the ship? I have a question on Cucina, I don't see it on my app or my carnival on my laptop to book only the Asian and Steak. Does that mean it's not available my entire week or can we book when we board.

Also, was there a close parking garage that you can actually just walk across the street to the ship? I remember that from years past, but don't remember the name.

I didn't report it on the ship because I thought it was just bruised and would get better in a day or two. I guess I didn't notice how swollen it had gotten till I tried to put tennis shoes on the morning we left.

I booked Cucina and Steakhouse in advance on the carnival website. I'm not sure why it's not showing up but I'm sure you can book when you board on the App. The casino booked JiJis for us. They offered us the Steakhouse again but we politely declined.

I can picture a nearby parking garage in my mind but I don't know the name of it. Sorry!  We parked in Lot B for this cruise and took a shuttle bus over.

  3. Just got home awhile ago from the cruise. It really was so much fun overall! My mini-review: Fun, fun, fun...Carnival is back! Our state room steward was so sweet and service was really good. We were on deck 10 Lido. I was hesitant with booking this cabin because of the noise from the pool but we didn't hear a thing.  It was a very convenient location.

The Premium wi-fi service worked well throughout the cruise. I had to do a few work things (ugh!) and was able to have my videoconferences with no problems. I already mentioned it in another post but E-muster was very convenient.

JiJi Asian and Cucina were great in both food and service. The Steakhouse however needs some work with the entire experience. The wait time was very slow and the steaks were not that good. They had our appetizers mixed up with another table and I never received my glass of wine I had ordered. So hopefully they'll get it together as time goes on. Several people I spoke with in the casino had noted similar experiences. The dining room was ok--nothing great but nothing terrible. The Marketplace buffet was fine except it seemed like they played the same 3 songs on a loop. Change it up guys! After initial confusion, the menus on the phone became second nature to us and I actually prefer it now.

We're pretty much always in the casino so we didn't go to any trivia things so I can't speak to those events. But I did see them advertised! They had a Game of Thrones trivia contest which seemed new to me or maybe I just haven't paid attention. I had so much fun in the casino!! The bar service staff was excellent and the dealers did a good job of interacting with the passengers. Plus I won quite a bit of money so that makes it sweet.

Debarkation wasn't as bad as I thought it might be--we didn't have to show our passports to Customs--they just used the facial recognition camera thing and we were out of there.

Infamous scooter mishap update: The only bad thing which wasn't Carnival's fault had to do with me getting my foot run over by a scooter at the Omelette station. Well, it was bruising up even more so I ran/hobbled to the urgent care today and found out I have a broken foot! So I'm in a walking boot. I was gonna ask if I could rent a scooter! 😉

All in all, can't wait to go on my next cruise.

Gee, reduced capacity and yet the people on scooters still manage to run over feet.🤦‍♂️ I wonder if that is a sign of a return to normalcy?

    Did she at least apologize?

Unfortunately she did not—she got her two eggs over medium and booked it out of there! It looks like I have a tiremark bruise right below my toes all the way across my foot! So I definitely think somethings have returned to normal. 🤷‍♀️

  5. Just to add my two cents even though previous posters have done a great job of describing life on the Vista. Checkin was easy. They barely glanced at our vaccine cards. We loved eMuster—super easy. Dining room service has been very slow but we know they’re trying to get their groove back. lol

Casino has been fairly crowded and a lot of fun. Most tables still at $5 minimum. They have the hot seat drawings, etc just like before. Bar service in the casino has been great. We watched NBA finals in the sports bar last night and it was very crowded in there—crowd was definitely going for Phoenix if anyone’s interested in that. Sorry, Milwaukee fans. I can definitely feel a difference being below capacity, there’s plenty of room to move around.

Earlier this week I was the only one on the serenity deck for awhile—talk about serene. The only drawback so far is that a lady in a scooter ran over my foot by the omelette station. It’s bruising up but I’m gonna keep drinking. 🙂 It’s so good to be back on a cruise.

  6. I'm reliving the trip through you...great job! Have to agree with you about some of the things you noticed on the Star. The casino bathroom was just a mess several times during the week. We also had an issue a few times with the casino dealers not paying out the correct amounts at the craps table and at 3 card poker. I think it was honest mistakes/inexperience, but we (and others around us, at times) really had to keep up with the payouts. (I always do monitor my bets but we were catching a lot more mistakes than usual.)

I have to say though that our room steward was one of the absolute best we've ever had! He was truly exceptional and I made sure to mention him by name on our email survey. Guess that was just luck of the draw.
