  1. Surprised by the “no tip” responses.  On RSSC we have always tipped both the butler and the maids.  We have only sailed on segments, not longer duration cruises.  Our friends who are long-term and cruise on RSSC and our cruise-based friends also tip the butlers.  Given the lack of income due to Covid cruise interruption, we were especially thankful for our care by our butler and maids by the end of our April RSSC cruise. Our standard practice continues in July on our RSSC cruise.  I think it is important to write that some persons do express extra “thanks”.

  2. Perplexing that you do not see the excursions. We were confirmed on our excursions in Helsinki for July 19 and July 20 yesterday, March 29 at 4PM.  There were free excursions, small groups, half-day and full-day vans options, providing a reasonable array of choices.  Nothing grand but it provides us with cultural and geographical insight into a destination we have not yet been.  We leave in 12 days for a different RSSC cruise; we are glad to be able to explore again.

  3. Roll call on the Navigator July cruise is posting only 4 replies.  I have been wondering how many reservations have been made for the London-Copenhagen July 7, 2022 departure since other roll calls on our other cruises are very active.  We are excited to visit and revisit the ports for this itinerary.  We are in London at the Intercontinental Park Lane for 5 days before this Baltic cruise.  After 2020 and 2021 canceled cruises we are happy to be back for an April and July cruise this year.

  4. We are booked on Navigator Penthouse Suite 1113.  On smaller ships higher and fore is more satisfying.  Vibration more pronounced at aft, the stern.  We have never chosen any suite but midship or fore in all our years of river cruising (Uniworld) and ocean cruises (RSSC & Ponant excursions).  Enjoy whatever cruise you book; on RSSC you cannot go adrift! (Go wrong). Our cruises in 2022 on RSSC are on Navigator and Voyager.

  5. After seeing the “Midnight at the Oasis” reference I just had to join in.  I still have the Maria Muldaur  vinyl from 1973-junior year of undergrad all those years ago. And, one of our booked cruises is April 15 Mark Bittman Spotlight Culinary Cruise “Canary Islands” Barcelona-Lisbon. Morocco better be a “go” because our booked excursions include Agadir, Taroudant, Imperial Rabat/Casablanca.
