Hi, we had our first cruise and first Seabourn experience this summer in the Mediterranean and are already looking into our next cruise. Currently we are looking into the November-December Caribbean cruise with the Odyssey, but have run into a few problems regarding flights to and from.

Does anyone have experience flying out of Barbados with LIAT. Ship arrives at 0700AM and the flight leaves at 0850AM. Is this sufficient time or will I run into problems?

Second question is about weather and hurricanes. Is November-December a good time for this type of cruise or will we run into bad weather?

Yes we are out of Venice July 27 on the Odyssey. I have noticed that they have done some upgrade so maybe the wifi has improved. (I will try to give you an answer in a few weeks:)

@Thecat123 - With regards to OBC we got 150$ from Seabourn so I am not sure if it is possible with a referral and we have also made the final payment.

Thank you for all your posts. I am a first time cruiser and much of your insight led me to book my first cruise now in July with Seabourn. I have found many answers browsing through this forum but I have a few that I seek your advice and insight on.

First, we are departing from Venice and will stay a few days in Venice prior to the cruise. Have booked us a nice hotel “down town” Venice, and plan to use a private water taxi to the terminal. I see that it’s not a small terminal but rather large. Can the water taxi drop us of next by the ship and is there a way to figure out what terminal we have to go to prior to the big day?

Should we be there at boarding time 12, or will we just end up waiting a long time to embark?

We booked a Veranda Suite OB and was lucky to get a V6 cabin, but we were assigned one of the accessible suits and she so much wanted to have a tub….. So I called Seabourn and payed for an upgrade to a Penthouse Suite just outside the Observation bar. Looking at the layout of the PH I am quite sure we will be happy (as I am pretty sure we would have been in the first suite assignment as well….) However, will I get new tags for the luggage or is this something that will be done at check-in in Venice?

Wi-Fi. I see that many of you complain about the Wi-Fi onboard, is it really that awful or has there been any improvements recently? Is it worth getting unlimited access?

In-room dining. I see some recommend to have at least one dinner in your suite during a cruise, and some recommend against it… Any advice? The same goes for breakfast is it something you have to order the night before or can you wake up and just call room service?

Any other recommendation for couple of first time cruisers and first time on Seabourn?
