Wear it with pride! Thank you for your service. My son was killed while serving in the Navy. Wear it for your brothers and sisters who were proud to serve.

We are proud of our military and proud Americans🇺🇸

Words cannot begin to express how sorry I am for your loss. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

If you booked Guarantee room you can’t switch to another room unless you pay the non-Guarantee rate for the new room. The whole point of the Guarantee rate is that it costs less because you don’t get to choose.

As as far as a room under the galley is concerned, it may or may not be noisy, depending on what is right above you. You’re best bet if you stay in this room is to bring ear plugs to wear while sleeping, just in case.

That is what I thought but I wasn't sure. When I booked the cruise I went through a Carnival TA and she didn't really explain the whole guarantee thing to me other than to say she was getting the best rate. Live and learn and all of that good stuff. 🙂

  3. Hey everyone, my son and I are cruising Dec. 14th on the Conquest and I just saw where we got our room, we did the grantee room. It is room 2369 and I've been looking at the deck plans and from what I can tell it is right under the galley.  I'm thinking this might not be an amazing room but since I've only been on one cruise before and I honestly do not remember where out room was I am just not sure. If this isn't a good room is there any chance of me being able to switch rooms or upgrade if anything is available or am I locked into this room? I booked through one of Carnivals TA's or whatever they are called. Who knows maybe the room isn't as bad as I fear.

Just booked a 7 Day Southern Caribbean Cruise from San Juan in May 2020.  Does anyone know when the cruise elegant nights will be?  Thank you in advance!

Normally on 7 day and longer there are two elegant nights, Sunday and Wednesday.

Absolutely acceptable. Our twin sons ( Air Force) wore theirs on the Dream a couple of years ago. Nothing but positive comments.

Thank your son for his service.

And please thank your sons as well. My daddy retired from the USAF, one of my brothers was AF too, his son is currently in the AF. He just got back from 4 years in Mendenhall, England and before that was 4 years in Okinawa, and now Ellsworth, South Dakota. Lol

You got as close as you could at accusing him......just didn't have the guts to say it straight out!

The young man is 6ft 8 I am pretty sure he gets attention no matter what he wears......

You are very much correct, he does get a lot of attention and he doesn't like it. He would never wear his uniform, OCP or dress blues to get attention. When he is in public in uniform and people thank him for his service he get very uncomfortable. The whole question came about because we've only been on one other cruise and that was in 2010 when he was only 15 and people did dress up in suits and he didn't want to be under dressed but also didn't want to have to go spend $300 to $400 on a suit, and at his height a full suit would most like cost at least that much.

After reading some of the post that have talked about it not being as formal as it once was he quickly decided that if he was okay to just wear slacks, a button-up shirt, and tie then that is what he will do. It will making packing easier too because I wasn't looking forward to trying to figure out how to pack his dress blues for the flight down. LOL

  7. Hey everyone, my son, who is 24, and I will be sailing on the Conquest December 14th and he is trying to figure out what to wear for the two Elegant Night dinners. One of NCO's told him he should just wear his Army Dress Blues since he doesn't own a suit other than that one and not to waste the money to buy one. At 6'8 there really isn't such a thing as a cheap suit lol. However, he's worried he will strange or stick out if he wears it. For those of you have cruised a bit or are/were in the Army, or any branch of the military, what are your thoughts on him wearing his Dress Blues? Have you ever really noticed anyone in their military dress uniform? Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

Most reviews are positive for SAS. Im not sure what happened the day we had them booked but they left us and another couple we met on the cruise stranded! They nearly missed their flight!

That's my fear, that someone doesn't show up and we miss our cruise or flight back home.

We used SAS once several years ago. Transportation to the ship was great but they never picked us up after the cruise was over!! After 2 hours of waiting and calling we ended up in a taxi.

Oh my goodness, that's horrible. Thank you for letting me know about that.

We used to use shared shuttles (SAS, QLS, etc.), but now for a few dollars more prefer door to door service from Uber or Lyft.

I was leaning towards SAS because they've got such great reviews, however, now I'm starting to think Lyft/Uber might be the best way to go to make sure I can leave at the time I really want. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

SAS has generally good comments on this board. However, when we travel we prefer to have more control regarding our time and using a car service is best for us. We would not be wedded to a schedule.

I was very impressed with their reviews but the one thing I was worried about was not being able to pick my time exactly as I wanted. Thank you for your reply.

  12. Thank you for your reply. SAS does pickup from my hotel, I've been to their website all ready. I've also read tons of posts on this topic, I'm looking for some first hand experiences to help me decide which route I want to take. 🙂

  13. My son and I going to be flying into Fort Lauderdale on 12/13 for a cruise that leaves out of Miami on the 14th. I've got almost everything set and ready, except for our transportation from the hotel (near the airport) to the port of Miami. I've got this narrowed down to SAS or Lyft/Uber. What had everyone tried? What are the pros and cons to each?

  14. Hey everyone, my son (he's 24) and I (I'm 42) are going to be on the Conquest December 14th for a 7 night cruise and I've booked a couple excursions through Carnival and was wondering if anyone has taken them and if so if you could answer a few questions.

In Mahogany Bay we are doing Sea Trek Helmet Diving, a few of the things I'm wondering about are do we need to bring a towel or do they have them? Do they have lockers they provide or that can be rented, if rented how much? How was the price of food? Based on what I read lunch was not included.

In Cozumel we are doing the Surf and Turf 4X4 and Speedboat. Do we need to bring towels or do they provide them? Do they have lockers? The way the description read lunch is included on this one, is that correct?

Any help is greatly appreciated and if you have anything information I'd love to hear it.
