Thanks regarding the umbrella..
haven’t cruised in years and feel like a newbie regarding packing for Scandinavia. Any packing tips/suggestions for guys/gals is appreciated.
-
Perfect. Thank you.

Thanks for this info. Might hand wash a bunch.
BTW, I read a Viking article “what not to pack”. It said don’t bring umbrella. Said they are supplied in the cabin. Is that so? Or is a small travel umbrella recommended. -
We are in DV3 and booked the 2specialty restaurants. Not sure I really want the later 8:30 one but don’t want to cancel and then have nothing.
Are there any chances of getting a second visit to one of the restaurants when we are on board?

What is LCR? Thanks.
I’m stressing over packing for 2 weeks on Homelands cruise. I can’t imagine packing for all the varied temperatures a 3 month cruise would require.

Thank you. I’m stopping the stressing and will take my regular plugs. Where are you now? How is the weather?

That’s the bottom line. You don’t really need to deal with USB-A or USB-C outlets on Viking if you don’t want to. You can just plug your phone in as you do now.
Hotels overseas are another story. That’s where you might want to bone up on those USB options. And bring a country-friendly plug adapter. You can check with your hotel to see what kinds of USB outlets they have, if any.
You are right. I’m stopping the stressing over it.

Thanks for all your info. I’m hearing different answers so could you clarify- are Viking sky usb ports usb-c or usb-a? I have iPhone 15 both ends of cable are the same.

VIKING ocean ships have a BUNCH of USB ports .... and adequate supply of US style 120v outlets. Each bedside table has <note: bedside one USB is "high power">
in addition the desk lamp has 5 more USB ports
if that's not enuf, or if staying in a hotel along the way consider buying a universal outlet converter. These are inexpensive and plugged into the circular EU style outlet you see bedside and at desk they can provide a US style outlet and often USB ports. DO NOT buy one that is a voltage converter or a surge suppressor .. I'll not go into technical details but these are typically a no-no ship board. MOST electrical items today using a US style plug will automatically accept either 120 0r 240 volts (almost anything that uses a USB plug even thru an adapter will be OK) Mine actually was a return customer gift from VIKING pre-COVID. Example
Last trip we had 2 phones, 2 sets of ear buds, 2 kindles one laptop an apple watch and STILL had plenty of USB ports as we never needed everything plugged in at the same time!

Now I’m confused your photo shows old usb- a ports on the ship. But according to another answer- the usb-c port works as a standard. So which is it..

The attached photo shows the charging points in the rooms. With regards to the bedside sockets, from left to right they are as follows:
USB-A (fast charge), USB-A, US style socket, European style socket.
The cable on the left of your photo, along with it’s plug, will fit into the US style socket.
The cable on the right of your photo will fit directly into either of the USB-A sockets. The extreme left socket will charge quicker.
Hope this helps

As co I understand it. The new one iPhone 15 usb-c can be plugged directly to usb port or you can use the charger plug to the wall plug. The older one -usb-a will plug into the wall only. Or do I have it backwards?
