We purchased the insurance through Princess. It did not cover the COVID-19, so we cancelled before the cancellation fee went to 50%. I know we may be leaving some $ behind but we just felt this was the safest way to go. This would have been our first cruise to Alaska so we may try again next year or 2022. We were taking this cruise with 2 other couples and it was a group decision.

I don't gamble. We cancelled our May 20 Alaska cruise a couple of weeks ago so we receive a full refund minus the $200 deposit which will be FCC.

Thank You all so much for these great suggestions. We do have a balcony room on the port side and the cruise is first and then the land portion. I'm really looking forward going to Denali NP, but it may be too early in the season for us to get very far on the main road through the park.

By the way, we are from Michigan so cold, wet weather won't bother us. Our winters are terrible but the other three seasons make up for it.

So many good ideas. We are meeting with the 2 other couples this weekend and I am glad that I have some trip ideas for them. Thank You

This will be our first cruise to Alaska and I would like some suggestions on what we should do at each port. We will be going with 2 other couples, leaving from Vancouver on May 20 ( I hope we picked a good month) on the Coral Princess. Our ports are Icy Straight Point, Skagway and Juneau. We are also taking the additional land package, spending 1 night in Mt. McKinley lodge, 2 nights in Denali lodge and 1 night in Fairbanks. From my brief research it sounds like we should do the White Pass railroad up and bus or van back in Skagway, a hike or something to Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau and maybe whale watching in ISP. I know a lot of you on this board have been to Alaska several times so I'm anxious to hear what suggestions you have. Thanks for your help.

Thanks. I didn't think my other thread went through. Still learning.

Can some one tell me if there is a Vines on the Coral Princess?

I see from the deck plans that it has an International Cafe and another area called the La Patisserie. I would think these are similar. Thanks for your help.
When and what was the last Princess cruise you took?
