  1. Princess has some stuff they may charge for nominally, however you cannot get some of what Princess charges for, on a Carnival ship.

As others have mentioned, there is a charge for ice cream, but it is real ice cream (gelato in some cases :D ). The stuff you get on Carnival is soft serve.

If I were to compare what Carnival charges for vs. Princess, I would put money on it being a wash, on an oranges to oranges basis..

Princess has a few additional revenue "opportunities", and it is not fair to compare those to Carnival, when Carnival has not equivalent.. :p

    Enjoy Princess!!!!

  2. Thanks so much for posting that-I can't wait to go now! And I WILL partake in my share of fruity drinks :) :) :)

Purified water is used for ice and for any other consumable that calls for water, so do not worry.

  3. Yeah, maybe a cross between a Trans-Atlantic and a modern leisure cruiser, say right around 80,000 tons, which would land the class in between Fantasy and Spirit. Long and lean like the France, only on a slightly larger scale.

Name the new class "Revival" and position the first newbuild of the class in the the European market, with trans crossings twice yearly, or more frequently. Remember, It's all about fitting the ship to the market, and if there is enough interest in bring back the past with gusto, then maybe it is closer to reality than we think.

Then again, maybe I'm just dreaming. :)
