It is the actual road distance (shortest route) - think they use AA routefinder or similar.

The mileage for 2024 is private car up to 75 miles, shared up to 300 miles.

For 2025 the shared transport is nationwide.

Yes, there is an option to pay for the excess mileage - think it is currently £2.50 per mile (just for the extra mileage).

The price has increased per mile now. Going to Portsmouth we book a private car but Dover return is now £654. .So we share

I think our cruise (17 March) Adriatic at Easter, seems fairly full, although I don’t know that for sure. Today, we were allocated our cabin, on Deck A, under the Britannia Lounge. We’re in a nice location, IMO.

Some have been aware of noise from the Britannia Lounge

Well, Capt Darin Bowland has updated his profile on LinkedIn to show that he is now a Captain for the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection as of February 2024 - so either his account has been hacked, or social meedja is right.

Saga have not updated their "Captains" page on the website.

Be nice if Saga got Captain Nick Sunderland back. ("Be wise and sanitise").

One hand for the ship and one for you 😀

Just seen on other social media that Captain Darin Bowland is now working for Ritz Carlton Yachts and Saga is advertising for a replacement.

Social media  🤔 who really knows?

    Neither can I.

I sailed from Portsmouth in February of last year and facilities were primative to say the least. In particular, the baggage claim area was basically a tent. I sailed from there again last month and the place was unreconisable. The new terminal is now in use and everything proceeded like clockwork. Portsmouth are obviously serious in growng their cruise business and geared up to servicing small ships like Saga's rather than the monstrocities of the seas. They will I believe make it in Saga's interests to stay.

January 2022 first time Saga ship in port. It was a nightmare and disorganised plus unsafe.  Yes much better now

Thanks for that, I had seen it priced on the websites for 500 krona, which has you say is around £35.

I am interested if the Saga included Bus Tour will worth doing but if we decide to do the train will book direct.

We booked Flam Railway direct around £40 pp don't leave it too long.

But I've been told you get free taxis to the port, free WiFi, free excursions and free drinks packages.  Never been on one so don't take my word for it!

Take my word for it as we've done loads of Saga cruises. Apart what you've said there's included  travel insurance, included speciality restaurants, included full menu room service and drinks, gratuities included  Spa, premium drinks, full afternoon tea. You only pay for shop goods, spa treatments and alternative excursions. Pop up restaurants  no charge We usually leave with no bill. The food is top notch

Saga have announced that they are seeking a strategic partner for their cruise ships in an effort to reduce the level of debt on their balance sheet.

Depending on FOCL’s level of endebitedness and the appetite of the parent company. There could be an opportunity for Olsen to ‘acquire/partner’ the 2 new state of the art Saga ships,  at one feel swoop get new contemporary tonnage and eliminate a strong competitor?

Won't acquire but a partner is being sorted but Saga will keep what it offers now with no cuts

I agree entirely nosapphire and FatBoy20.  Passengers are invited to

pre-register on board, but are obviously going to ask when they are likely to be able to book.  Saga World Rep replies that they haven’t been told, and don’t know when they will be told.

Very frustrating all round, and Saga HQ need to address this.

Been going on for many years
