Thank you! That helps. I have been looking all over for pics…
looks like it doesn’t have a couch 😞

We are about to make final payment, and our TA called to advise that we have also been moved, but to an accessible cabin. I have no idea why. I have concerns that our view will be compromised as it’s one of the angled verandahs. (Zuiderdam 6049) Does anyone know anything about this cabin and the view?
TA is trying to find out why we were moved. It doesn’t seem right that we should be taking up an accessible cabin when someone else might actually need it.

Thanks you, everyone, for your input. We eventually found a YouTube review of the cabin, and it appears that the noise of the rolling trolley is very loud. As a poor sleeper, that led me to change cabins. We are now under the forward pool area, and have been told that cleaning takes place around 9:00 pm (so we’ll make sure to be somewhere else at that time, and set up around 6:00 - maybe a good time for breakfast on the balcony or a shower lol
we’re kind of hoping that being an Alaska cruise in September, the pool area won’t be too busy.

update:
After seeing a video that showed the noise from the food trolleys above that suite, We're being moved to underneath the Lido pool area (forward) SY 8051 . I have heard different opinions on the noise of moving loungers. Someone suggested that this pool deck is set up in the evening, and there is no late night or early morning noise from there. Does anyone know from experience? We will be travelling to Alaska in September next year.

Yes, all my info from HAL says Wednesday, Sept. 8/21.
A while back, the cruise disappeared from their offerings, but I think there was a computer glitch that caused that. Sure hope it hasn’t been cancelled!

I went to check as I was sure this was 2021 and had a conflict on the FCL.
I don't see a cruise for September 8th on the HAL site? There is one for September 1st.
Is the 8th the correct date? -
Thank you for doing this !

Yes, it is. Hoping to head up to Yellowknife afterward.

Zuiderdam Alaska September 8. If this goes ahead, it will be our first cruise (Although the third one we’ve booked!)
We’re leaving from Vancouver.

My DH and I are contemplating a 14-day NZ cruise. We have never been on a cruise ship before, and he is concerned he will not like it. He feels that there will be people and lineups everywhere you go, and there will be no quiet spaces; he doesn't want to feel 'trapped'. (I used to feel the same way, but have come around lol). I'm curious as to whether other people feel, or have felt, this way when cruising.
BTW - we do have an Alaska cruise booked for next year, but i would like to book NZ while the V & V promo is available.
Thank you.

If we can safely assume that they have to remove tables in the dining areas in order to physically distance diners then timing is going to be an issue. I think that diners can expect shorter dining times in order to accommodate as many passengers as possible. Shorter dining times can be accomplished by having much less menu offerings and a smaller number of servings.
But that's just my guessing. Who knows what will roll out when the time comes.
I’ve been wondering if they will take fewer passengers on cruise, in order to allow for physical distancing...
Lots of surmising until announcement is made.

I was most enthusiastic about responding to the survey sent to my email address yesterday.
However, as the first question relating to my location only gave three options: "United States, Australia, UK", I was unable to continue.
Just wondering if any fellow Canucks had the same frustrating experience?
I was going to answer it, too, but it appears they weren’t looking for Canadians’ opinions.

Thank you. That is great to hear! I have spent many hours trying to find out.
We were initially booked on Volendam, and had selected a cabin, but got moved when they changed ships. -
We are booked on the zuiderdam for our first cruise, and have been assigned a signature suite on deck 8, underneath Lido market (Sy8087). I am wondering if there will be much noise overhead, or if the seating areas of the Market are carpeted. Also, does anyone know if there are any noisy areas near that cabin? (Daytime isn’t an issue, but I have a terrible time sleeping.) thanks!
I have checked deck plans, but there might be things I can’t see there, or don’t recognize as being a potential source of noise.

Hi. Sorry - can’t help answer your question, as we haven’t yet been on a cruise ship. We are booked into 8087, so would love to see feedback. I’m concerned about noise from above. Which cruise will you be on?
If you’re willing to share, what have your experiences been on this ship?
Thanks, from a few provinces away...😀

Mostly, basically, it's location. Is the VB room more midship than yours is? That's the difference.
yes - probably about 5 feet?? Lol
thank you for your response. I wouldn’t even have guessed at that (but I guess the dividing line has to go somewhere...)

We will be taking our first ever cruise on the Oosterdam. We’ve never even seen a cruise ship, other than in photos! We have selected a verandah cabin, which is VC category. Right next to it is a VB cabin. Can anyone tell me what the difference might be between the 2? We selected the VC as it is what our TA “offered”. Thank you.

Thank you. This will be our first ever cruise, so I have no frame of reference. Add to that the fact that I simply cannot visualize things and I am clueless. Our TA had marked as as Do not upgrade, so I’m. OT sure why this change was made.
