There has been a lot of confusion recently about Cruise Critic parties onboard Celebrity ships.  Unfortunately, Celebrity is still not hosting our parties at this time.  It seems that if you "search" for a party link on Celebrity's website, one can be found and you can enter your information and receive an email confirmation.  However, while the link may work, Celebrity is not hosting the parties.

As soon as we receive word that the parties will be offered again, I will post here and you'll again see the sign up links on our Cruise Critic roll calls.

Members are free to set a time and a place to gather onboard through your roll calls.  I've done that for several cruises in the past year.  My suggestion is to avoid lounges that are typically used during the day for ship activities.  If you select somewhere outdoors for sailaway or something earlier in the morning (say 9:00 AM) on a sea day, you can likely avoid other ship activities.

I hope this clears up confusion that is currently out there.  Watch here for updates when they are available.

    Hopefully by October

Perhaps Celebrity should reduce prices for suites if they cannot offer the services

Thats funny.  I LOVE Celebrity but since they have come back with Always Includes which used to be always included anyway in the suites prices have increased prices on all classes and on suites also to help cover the cost of everyone getting Always included for everyone.

@zeroed Eeew, s@x in public areas 😱 There is no way to sanitize and disinfect the ENTIRE ship from everything that took place before the next sailing.   Their enhanced cleaning protocols for Covid were not designed for these circumstances.  I feel for the crew.

I believe you.  I’m personally not going to look for the videos, because my eyes won’t be able to unsee that!

@orangelime  You’re our investigative reporter.  Comments?

@BennyBrun  Thanks for starting this thread.

Well honestly if you think about it the "enhanced cleaning protocols" are cirumspect on any line that is docking at 7:00 AM and departing on a new cruise at 4pm.  That is nowhere near the time needed to deep clean a ship bow to stern.

Glad they are there and having a great time. Not their fault, Royal could have cancelled it or enforced their own rules 🤷‍♂️. In the end, everybody is vaccinated and not going to become terminally ill. If anybody gets their cruise cancelled because of positive crew after this sailing, thats a shame, but blame Royal not the charter or the people who paid a premium for a specialty vacation. Royal knows what happens on these sailings, it is nothing new, and they accepted the risk.

Actually ATLANTIS EVENTS charted the ship from RC.  It was Atlantis' call to cancel.  They said they wouldn't because they would have owed RC money

WTH? So you think all the blame should be on Royal? What happened to personal responsibility? The blame should also fall on the passengers and the charter company. It doesn’t matter if they paid a premium for their vacation. They knew the rules and it’s also their fault for not following them.

    The cruisers should be blamed.

    Atlantis Events should be blamed

    Royal Carribean should be blamed

    All 3 bear responsibility.

I think it says a lot though that both Royal and Carnival over the past months have had the highest capacity of any cruises going out and the most number of ships. And the MOST COVID cases.

  6. 5500 on board. 100% capacity. I DAY AFTER  Now the thing about Omnicron is its 3 times more contagious.  Its not as serious if you are vaxed and get a breakthrough case but you can pass it to both vaxed and unvaxed who might have underlying conditions or immunity issues.  Oh and as for the CDC protections.  They literally scheduled the cruise for the day after the expiration of the CDC mandates  So no masks or social distancing.

    More below.

  7. We did that route on the 11/21 Divinia.  We were originally suppose to dock in Montego Bay while Jamaica was beginning to shut down so we went to Falmouth instead at the last minute.  Made the other portrs but Aruba was the only pot that you didn't have to take a vax/unvax excursion to leave the port.  And this was right before Omnicron.

  8. We were on the MSC Divinia at the end of November.  COVID guidance is posted throughout the ship and announcements are made.  That being said though I saw passengers telling others "to put on your mask" more than crew to others.  Abd port disembarkations was not very socially distanced even though there were only 800 on our cruise.  Everyone gathered together to get off and all the elevators full.  We also had an issue in the MDR where we were sat beneath a platform that had table that was literally 1 foot away and 1 foot above us..  We moved.

Do I think they could have done better.  Yes.  But in the end the responsibility is on you to take care of yourself s on you.

Well, I guess I'm in the minority here when it comes to Monica.

Lovey and I actually had no problem with her.

Cruise directors in general do nothing for us, so less is more.

Never did understand why so many people think the CD makes or breaks the cruise.

That being said, we absolutely adored the activity staff.

We Had a ball with them all at trivia, and they kept me up and moving during the White Party.

    Yep.  DEFINATLY in the minority.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience, but I’ll repeat your point back to you and say that your experience doesn’t reflect mine.

The covid protocols on Divina in September were more stringent than on Grand Princess in October, so if you’re disappointed with MSC in that regard you probably won’t be pleased with the other cruise lines either.

And you make that statement with no knowledge how it may have lapsed in a few months.  You like the line FINE have fun!  ENJOY!  But allow people to post and have their own opinions

Since cruising has restarted post-covid I’ve been on three cruises: MSC, Princess and Celebrity. In my opinion they were essentially interchangeable experiences. Maybe I would be able to discriminate better between the three if I had complained more?

Or maybe you can just admit that some people don't have the same experiences I am a handicapped cruiser on the Divina right now.  They don't care.  They make me limp the ships length to get to an excursion meeting point only to limp ail the way back to get off the ship.  The social distancing  is a joke.  And they rarely enforced . WORST CRUISE EVER

IF YOU CAN STILL CANCEL AND GET A REFUND PLESE DO

MSC HAS A D RATING AT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUERUEA FIR  REASON

    You have been warned

  12. I can't.  DONT DO IT!  I am on MSC right now.  WORST CRUISE OF MY LIFE and their COVID protocols suck,  And they don't care.

MSC is CHEAP thats all.  They have a D rating at the Better Business Bureau, And in the end you get what you pay for

Finally but not the least: To restart an Industry on this post covidical era is not like to plug in a button on a smartphone app.

MSC has sailed in the USA for years now they are well aware of the problems they havein the American market,.

Also these are the same issues they have had BEFORE COVID.  If anything they had a year and a half to fix customer service problems.

I am currently on the Divina and I am handicapped and they could care less
