in FACT - on my 2016 cruise, ALL I'll be wearing on the ship is my lanyard. No pockets to keep anything in. Same for hubby.

    HUH?

LOL Maybe it's a clothing optional cruise! Good Catch killtheup. Still ROTHFLOL

  2. Thanks, but I DON'T want an alarm clock, I just want a clock that I can see in the middle of the night. I have one that is about 1 inch by 1 inch...works wonderfully...the IPAD would barely even fit on that tiny nightstand!!:D

We love our projection clock, it projects the time on the ceiling so you can just quickly look for reference in the night!

  3. Love the flashlight idea, will have to bring one for my cruise next week.

You can always get extension cords at the dollar store so you aren't spending a lotyou can also get a travel mug for them. Makes it easier to do your coffee/tea in the morning (the ships mugs are always too small for this tea drinker) and great way to carry your beverage of choice. Also nice is a lanyard of some time to attach their sign and sail card to. My cousin gave me a gift bag at xmas with the lanyard, chapstick, sunblock and a small battery operated candle for our balcony.

We always pack an extention cord, but have found packing one of those multible plugs by the vanity is very handy. A multible plue allows for a curling iron, and maybe a room freshner to be used at the same time along with plugging in the chargers at night. You can plug multible things with those 3 to 6 outlet plugs and it's easier to pack if you're worried about weight. Don't forget the Duck tape or a small pad of sticky notes to post requests for the room steward.:)

  4. I think perhaps it's too early. Bidding $126 and not winning means you should slow down, in my opinion. Most 4 stars in Downtown can be had for less than $80. Take a little break, and start again at $70 or so. You don't have to keep going up, up, up. Sept. 2010 is so far off, there's no need to overpay. You'll be happy to be in the downtown area once you get there. You can walk to anything you need.

Thanks, I did put a lower bid in today and they didn't take it, but they didn't give me the "you have absolutely no chance" stuff either. I'll keep at aroun $100 or less for a while and see what happens!

    Thanks for the encouragement! :D

  5. I went for 3 1/2 star downtown for a room last month. Got the Pacific Palisades for $95 and it was wonderful!

But you may be a bit early for dates almost a year from now

Thanks, we wanted the location-and a nice clean hotel. Thats a big help! I've never had this much difficulty and thought maybe downtown Vancouver was really pricey. I wil try this bid, as now know the 3 1/2 is a good value!

    Many Thanks!

  6. I'm up to $126 and still it's turning me down. Should I try the Entertainment area? Am I just bidding way too early! Help, I've never had this much trouble before. They say someone just bid a 4 star in Downtown Vancouver and won for $75, but then they say the median price for a room is $270 for a 4 star.

Has anyone stayed in a 31/2 star downtown? Help! I wanted to stay close to Downtown as we are spending two day before we sail to see Vancouver. We would really appreciate any and all help!:o

    Thanks!

  7. Hi

Can't help you regarding the ones on the hump but we've stayed in two Junior Suites on deck 10 of the Jewel. 1576 was a great suite but 1584 had a lot of overhead noise due to the fact it was directly under the Windjammer - each morning while they were setting up we were woken by the noise of trollies overhead.

We complained the first couple of mornings but they didn't have any other suite of the same catagory (or higher) available to move us to. We were offered a move to deck 2 interior but we'd paid for the junior suite and figured we'd just put up with it.

They did change the way they set up in the mornings and after a few days the noise wasn't as bad. We thought that was an end to it. However, on the last night of the cruise we got a call to ask if we would accept £500 compensation as they were aware that it had been particularly noisey during the first few days of the trip. We duly accepted and are using the vouchers for our Easter B2B trip on the Vision. We were also given a complimentary meal in Chops with a very nice bottle of wine.

    Regards

Sounds like the noise might have been worth putting up with! Thanks so much for your quick reply Judi!
