  1. We just got off the Sunshine Dec 17-23. We also stayed in 2 lido interiors, the best ones yet, cabins 9123 & 9125. These square interiors seem to have more space. We loved them.

Never sailed the Glory, but I would always choose the cruise with more days.

    Enjoy!

I actually had a question about those particular cabins if you wouldn't mind answering.....do you have to walk all the way to the other end of the "main" corridor to get to the hallway that these rooms are in or is there a "shortcut" closer to the elevators not shown on the Carnival diagram? TIA

  2. OK...getting ready to book our first ever Christmas cruise!!! It will be me, husband, 13 yo daughter and 17 yo son. Kids 3rd cruise, hubs 5th cruise & my 6th cruise. So which ship Glory or Sunshine?!??!

Sunshine out of Port Canaveral - 8 day - St. Kitts, St. Maarten, San Juan & Grand Turk.

    OR

Glory out of Miami - 7 day - Grand Turk, San Juan, Amber Cove & St. Thomas.

We have been to all ports on the Sunshine cruise. On the Glory cruise Amber Cove & St. Thomas would be new. The clincher is the price ---- for the exact same price we can get 1 interior and 1 balcony on Lido deck on the Glory vs. 2 interior on Lido deck on Sunshine. So basically for the same price we loose a day of cruising but are able to have a balcony. Well, technically the Sunshine would be slightly higher for the extra day of tips but other than that the price is identical. So which would you book? Sunshine or Glory? Help decide please!!!!

  3. I am getting these AMAZING casino offers from Carnival right now and my husband is being kinda "wishy washy" on pulling the trigger on one of them I am tempted just to book one and go solo (these price CANNOT be beat)!!!! I am not afraid to go solo but I feel guilty because I would be leaving my husband home for a week with our 2 kiddos (12 & 16). Should I just do it? Or stay home and not feel the guilt?

  4. Ok so I understand because of some Texas law the Cheers program does not go into effect until day 2 and you pay for 1 day less because of this. But, what about the other beverages offered through Cheers? Soda, water, energy drinks, etc? Do we just have to pay for those individually on the first day as well?

  5. I am considering booking the Breeze for next year for myself & 2 children. There is a possibility that my mom may go with us but it will be a while before she knows for sure. If she does go we would get 2 cabins, if just me and my 2 kids we would get 1 cabin. Soooooo, if I were to book right now would I be better off just booking myself & 1 child (then adding 3rd later if mom does not go) OR if I booked all 3 of us in 1 cabin now would we be able to move 1 child (without penalty) to my moms cabin when/if she booked at a later date? I mean if she does go and we transfer 1 to her cabin later it would be in Carnivals benefit as they would be getting the 2nd passenger rate on said child instead of 3rd passenger rate. Or am I just making this way more complicated than it really is?

  6. I am wanting to set up a reservation with them from POM to FLL Airport following our cruise but I have a couple of questions before I book. I have called them several times on several different days and always get a recording that the office is closed that day. Is this normal business for them? I mean if I have them booked and call the number on the site if they don't show up am I gonna get a recording? We have a flight to catch and I just do not want to take a chance if I can't get a hold of them if/when I need them. TIA

  7. Will we be able to drop off our bags around 9:30 am and leave the terminal to return our rental car to the Miami Airport? Or will one of us need to wait at the terminal with our luggage while the other returns the rental? Or do we have to lug our bags with us to the airport and take them with us on our shuttle to the ship after dropping off the rental? Sounds confusing I know but I just want to make sure I know what is "allowed". TIA

  8. DH & I will be arriving at the FLL Airport on September 11 at 5:15pm and will have a rental car. We depart on the Breeze out of Miami the following day. I am looking for a hotel in Miami or FLL close to the beach (within walking distance), with free parking and a nice free breakfast. In a safe area of course, does any hotel like this exist? Looking to be in the $150 price range TIA

  9. I was looking into renting a car for less than 24 hours. Picking up at the FLL Airport and returning to the MIA Airport the next day. There are 2 choices on the car rental under car program: 1.) Inclusions, unlimited mileage and 2.) Inclusions, Car Only Unlimited mileage. What does this mean? Option 1 is super cheap and option 2 ends up being the same price as the on the Alamo web-site. I'm so confused. TIA

  10. We are sailing the Breeze out of Miami in September but flying out of FLL with a 1 pm flight on a Sunday. Would we be safe taking our time to get off the ship? I had really wanted a slightly later flight but the only directly flight is at 1 pm on that day & gets us home at a decent time. I just didn't want to be jam packed with everyone trying to get off early. So do you think we would be safe staying on a bit longer and waiting for the crowds to die down?

  11. We will be on the Breeze in September and I'm very fair skinned and burn easily plus I can't tolerate intense heat for long periods of time. Is there a shady spot with loungers on the Breeze? I know they have the clam shells in the serenity area but I'm sure those are hard to come by. What about shade at the aft pool or the lanai on deck 5? Thanks :)

  12. Interestingly enough I had a similar experience. I had booked through an online travel agency here in the US on an early saver fare. At the time, they were offering half deposits with the balance due at final payment. I booked it and found a couple of price drops along the way. Unfortunately on the second one, Carnival cancelled my cruise. The early saver offered at that time did not have half deposits and now there was a shortage in my deposit. Since it is all done electronically, no one was able to inform my TA that it would be a problem and Carnival neither informed me or my TA of the problem.

Fortunately, it has worked out so far. I went online to check out my reservation and noticed it was gone. I contacted Carnival who said to call my TA. He then noticed it was gone and worked with Carnival and his boss. They got me back my exact cabin and the agency paid the difference in fare between what I had and the current rate.

Ultimately I blame Carnival as they should not have cancelled my cruise without informing either me or my TA about the shortfall in the deposit. I am quite impressed with the agency that they stepped up to pay the difference and I am quite frankly disappointed that they are having to do so. I don't like them being out money due to Carnival's error.

In the end, I am going to enjoy my cruise and will almost certainly use my TA again for making everything right.

Same thing happened to me about a month ago. I had booked on my own though (not through a TA). But fortunately from these boards I was aware that it might happen and was keeping an eye on my booking. Sure enough, they wanted the remainder of the deposit within two days. Fortunately they gave me an additional 2 day extension until my payday. But had I not been watching my booking it would have been cancelled. Cruise Critic saved the day :)
