  1. Depends on what you drink and how much. Just off the Liberty and for 4 days at $231 inclusive of gratuity and using my $100 OBC against it (making it $131) for me it made sense.

My wife doesn't drink a lot. I was able to let her have a few of mine here and there. And no, I don't feel one bit guilty about doing that. I always spaced my buying of drinks at least 5 mins apart and never had an issue. They also allow you to get one bottle of water and a cocktail at the same time. As well my daughter had the soda pack at $21. That was a value buy.

You always drink more the first 2 days of a cruise then it usually tapers off a bit. On a long cruise with a bunch of port days I would probably go a la cart. Not every drink is $10 or $14 as everyone on here is convinced. DOTD is $6.95 with the glass, a rum and coke is like $8 beers are around $5-6. Things like Long Island are going to get you into that $10 range as well as the frozen stuff.

  2. What about a barbecue around the pool deck, do they ever do that on embarkation day, if it's nice weather?

Anoher poster mentioned BBQ ribs being cooked on the deck during the sea day. I doubt that would be on embarkation day. From experience I find the WJ busy but manageable. I've always have found seating for 3. Remember to walk into the place and hit the buffets in the back. Same food, less line.

  3. Perhaps when the staff starts seeing tips going down because they jacking us for an 18% auto grat maybe that will get the message out. I have always thrown an extra buck on top of the auto 15% but squeezing me for more money for my drinks by such a huge amount is going to make me more tight with the wallet. Sorry underpaid and over worked staff member but RCCL just gave you a pay cut.

Now for the other side of the coin. I'm not looking forward to exposing my 11yo daughter to a drunken frat party at sea. I'm no prude, trust me (doing an AI at Mr Sanchos) but this is supposed to be a family friendly vacation. I just have visions of passed out passengers in the hallways mid day after an intense day slamming back shots in the hot sun poolside. ::shakes head:: I think RCCL has become too big and too money hungry.

  4. And if you have read that another price adjustment is indeed in effect, are you looking for confirmation that what you read is true? Who/what gave this information?

Other forums within this website. I'm looking for LOTS specific confirmation.

I sailed on Liberty on April 2nd and I can confirm that there are very few placed that have a drink menu, Hoof & claw does have a very limited cocktail menu but a complete beer listing.

Sadly the priced HAVE gone up 40 to 50% on most cocktails. The martinis that were already $12 are still $12. but most cocktails that were in the $8 to $10 range are now $12 and those that were $6 to $7, some are around $10

So, as a rule of thumb, some cocktails are $10, most are $12, and the Drink of the day is $7.95 I think.

And there we go. Ugh great. Guess I'm doing a package and the heck with them I'll gladly share it with the wife. 5 mins between drinks isn't that big of a deal. Guess my next cruise will be with someone else who isn't trying to nickel and dime me. And this is our Platinum cruise as well. :(

  5. We are sailing 4/30. I'm hearing a lot of confusion regarding drink pricing. Can someone that just got off the most recent sailing please confirm that ALL cocktail drinks now start at $10? Beers at $6?

I'm not a huge drinker and mostly stick to beer or a rum and coke but these prices are making me consider the package deal if true.

    TIA
