  1. We were thinking about taking the train in La Coruna to Santiago de Compostela. It appears very much a possibility.  Rail Europe https://www.raileurope.com/en-us/destinations/a-coruna-santiago-de-compostela-train has direct trains between the cities for about 15 Euros. The train runs about every 30 to 45 minutes throughout the day.   Tickets can be purchased online and popular times sell out.  The transit station in La Coruna is located at Av. Ferrocarril, 2, 15007 A Coruña, Spain.

  2. We have rented a car a few times in San Juan and explored beyond the city. It was worth it. The last time we rented we picked up at the airport and planned to drop off at Coronado. We ended up dropping off at the airport and taking a taxi back to the port. I know we paid extra but couldn't find the Coronado drop off and just did the easiest possible return. El Yunque is well the visit. The bio bay is exceptional if you can do it. I highly recommend renting the car and doing it on your own. FYI our iPhone had no problems navigating our trip for us.

  3. If you wait 20 or 30 mins...the crowds will be gone...get on the next tender. It's really not a "mad rush"! I would, however, advise NOT to plan a wedding at this stop. GC is frequently missed entirely because of wind or tides.....get married BEFORE the cruise, and simply have a big cruise party!

I would agree with the caution about planning a Cayman wedding. I have traveled there three times and was able to get off once. If nothing else, have a plan B ready.

  4. We also opted for the trek to Tulum. I agree it was worth it. The ferry can be an experience but we are at sea. The bus was comforable and we stopped at the gift shop/snack bar to break up the trip. The ruins were amazing. The beach was sandy and the area had dozens of iguana sun bathing on the rocks. We had a great time. We have visited serveral Myan ruins and this one did not disappoint.
