  1. I'm lactose intolerant and allergic to pineapple and found that the option to order the night before was my best option because the chef could modify almost every dish  to accomodate me.  In addition, we've eaten at specialty restaurants on board and I found that as long as I spoke with the maitre d' at least a day in advance, they could confirm any modifications with the chef in advance (and they always had a special dessert available for me).

Yea, I am looking forward to your posts about Salsa etc excursion in Cozumel !

    Love your luggage!

Your Eden dinner looks fabulous. Now I want lobster. But its is snowing here in the North today.

So enjoy your trip reports as always. I feel like I am on a cruise with you when I read them.

I forgot, but which ship will you be on when you and Jeremey go to Europe this fall?

If you  are stopping in Liverno and want to do a private tour including wine tasting. I have the best guide ever. He is a sommelier/ tour guide in Tuscany.

We'll be traveling on the Beyond next month with a stop in Livorno.  Would you mind sharing your guide's information?  If you don't want to post here, you can send to tracey.rosen at gmail.com

  3. We just booked our first Celebrity Cruise on the Solstice for January (we've sailed with Princess several times in the past though).  I am lactose-intolerant and saw that the main dining room can accomodate easily.  However, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this in the specialty restaurants or any of the other dining venues?

And any don't miss recommendations for first time cruising on the Celebrity Soltice (my husband and I are in our mid-40s, foodies and very young at heart)?

    Thank you!

  4. I was on the Regal Princess over NYE and we paid for the Enclave thermal suite.  It was actually our third time booking the pass on a cruise and we used it all but one day.  To be honest, we book it so that we force ourselves to relax at least 45 minutes every day.  I've heard that the Enclave on the Sky is similar to the one on the Regal and it was fantastic.  We did complain though that we thought it should be policed better because there were people who didn't have the pass that were sneaking in.

Nope, no milkshakes at the ice cream spot on Regal (or Royal). They didn't install a milkshake machine.

He can get virgin mudslides or dirty bananas or such at the bars as mocktails, but they're not made with ice cream. Ice, cream, mix, chocolate...

While not the news I wanted to hear - thank you for the confirmation.  Looks like we'll be saving money on the drink package then. 🙂

Contact Princess and advise them of the issue so they can notate it with the dietary department and your booking. You can do this in the personalizer/booking online.

In the booking in the first tab/summary look to the under right dietary requests.

Also once onboard talk with the Head Waiter in the restaurant you are dining in.

Already done.  The first Princess cruise we went on was fantastic about it.  The last one which was 3 years ago wanted to serve me the same broiled chicken and steamed broccoli at every meal.  I wound up ordering off the regular menu (the item which we assumed had the least amount of dairy) and kept my fingers crossed that a Lactaid would suffice but I was really uncomfortable on a couple nights.  Keeping fingers crossed that they modify on the Regal and don't focus on one allergy-free entree every night.

  7. We've cruised on a couple of Princess' smaller ships and my teen son's favorite thing is the milkshakes.  We'll be on the Regal in a couple weeks and he can't stop talking about how many milkshakes he'll drink but I'm seeing mixed comments about if there are actually milkshakes or not.  Can someone confirm either way so we are prepared and purchase the right beverage package for him?
