French press is absolutely the messiest way to make coffee on the ship.   Cleanup is a real pain.

If you  bring a single cup melitta type filter cone  and  filters and then slow pour over grounds, yo'ullget a perfectly respectable cuppa joe.  But nothing wrong with ship water other than it's distilled vs just filtered.

Thankx, didn't think much of clean up.  a pour over was my 2nd option.

I submitted the online form for price protection on my RU2 cruise while there's another still in my account.  Was wondering if any of you have done this online lately and how long it is taking these days.

no, but I am interested in your outcome. I called the general line, and was basically told what the disclaimer for RU2 says

We booked with a RU1 rate and also found a price drop but we were past final payment.  We called our PVP and he said only those booked Early Saver could get a price drop but he would check with his supervisor.

About 15min after I got off the phone with him I got an email with a new invoice showing I now had a $149 OBC.….AND I kept my drink package!!

    I was very happy!!

only thing is I booked directly. I guess it is worth a try, Thankx

  4. I booked a cruise months ago on the RU2 promotion. The cruise says "says if I make any changes to the cruise I will lose the free cheer package rate" When I looked at a comparable room, I see the room is $288 cheaper (only DOU in the casino). My question is has anyone been able to get the price difference on a similar cruise, and NOT lose the free cheers package?

Sorry to question,  But i'm taking PCR test at my Wife's office,  so Sat - Fri- Thur - Wed (3 days before),    But that would be Wed after 12pm..  Am just missing the point.  Sorry but want to make sure i understand.

My understanding is it is two days before embarkation. So if your cruise embarkation day is Sat then the earliest would be Thursday at 12:01AM (not sure it is is your time zone, the ships or Carnivals)

Question,  if its a repeat i apologize.  But the email i got from Carnvial of course states a Sat cruise should be tested on Thursday or later "If the sailing is on Saturday, the test may be taken on Thursday and Friday"  Which is only 2 days before. But its actually 3 days before,  even if you went by the possible 72 hours then a test taken on Wed at 4pm would be good by the time we sail,  especially if i board at 11am.

So,  am i reading it wrong  or is there another reason that i'm missing why i do not have an extra day to make sure i get my test taken?

    Just double checking.

    they don't count embarkation day

Carnival will not be providing testing for vaccinated people a the ship, unless b2b.

The unvaxed are still tested at embarkation and before debarkation at the ship. Vaxed or unvaxed doing b2b are still tested at the ship.

"Unvaccinated guests must take an additional antigen test at embarkation, and test again within 24 hours of debarkation on all cruises longer than 4 days. "

"All guests traveling on back to back cruises, regardless of vaccination status, will need to be tested in between voyages. "

Curious, does anyone know how much they charge for the testing in a B2B?

Weekly....Friday or Saturday. Now it's only the ones I know about that post their schedules online so there're actually a lot more. Like out of the six that were on Mardi Gras with me. 2 don't have a website. 1 doesn't have a schedule on his website. 2 haven't updated their websites since 2019. And just 1 actually had an updated schedule out there.

OK, Thank you for the information!

Our Mardi Gras cruise leaves on Jan2,2022.  Between a SUnday departure AND it being over a holiday week end( New Years Day), we didn't want to risk not being able to find a place that would test on NY eve or not having results back d/t the holiday.  SO we opted for the Binax home test proctored online by tele-health.

Purchased a 2 pack and a 3 pack for the four of us in our party.  That way I have an extra test-just in case.

Can the test kits be split up for multiple individuals?
