Consider Fort James beach.  We went there for the first time in December.  Short cab ride ... beach bar / restaurant (they'll serve you food and/or drink where you're sitting) ... natural shade areas & loungers/umbrellas ... nice beach & easy access in and out of the water (no large drop-off like on some of the beaches.)  Cab driver came back & picked us up at designated time as requested.  We've done Turner's and Valley Church beaches in the past, they're fine --- but this one was less crowded and the easy in-and-out of the water seals the deal for us.  I plan on writing up a little report on it & posting it here soon.

You are right on the money with Fort James Beach.  We have been there several times. $6 for a short cab ride. This is also the beach where Beach Limerz is located. I have never seen it crowded and have never been accosted by vendors there.

I will describe the beach at Beach Limerz from early the second week in December.  The beach directly in front of the restaurant was not accessible.  The sand had been washed away uncovering the rocks.  According to the owners, this happens a couple of times a year and then it fills back in again.

We walked maybe 200 hundred feet further north on a dirt road to access the beach which was beautiful.  There were gentle waves until mid afternoon at which time they became larger but manageable.  On entering and exiting the beach there was a slight soft sand drop off of about 6-8 inches.  Getting in was definitely not a problem.  Getting out, was basically like climbing up one step.

It will possibly have less drop of than some other beaches but obviously there is no guarantee.   The staff and the facility are excellent as described.  Very peaceful.

So would you recommend Beach Limerz?

Brandons Beach is everything you want and is close by...10 to 15 minute cab ride. You will probably even see your ship from the beach. Even with three other ships in port that day, the beach was not crowded. Rent chairs, buy drinks and food at Rascals, Here is the link to our youtube video of our cruise in Nov, 2019. The Barbados section starts at 10:20. Lots of photos of the beach...

The beach looks great. Do you know how much the cab ride is? Price of loungers and umbrella?
