You have three options if you don't want to go to Turkey: Pick a cruise that stops in Cyprus or Italy. Pick a Greek cruise line that stays only on Greek ports.  Or pick a cruise that starts or ends in another country.

    A 4th option:

Virgin Voyages offers their "Adriatic Sea & Greek Gems" itinerary which starts and ends in Athens but hits two ports in Croatia and one in Montenegro.

I do care about accuracy, the use of science, logical consistency, honesty, and avoiding logical fallacies - no matter the subject.

...and I do care about sovereign and international law, and how they apply to banned substances being smuggled/imported into countries where they are banned.

See - you can have an interest in the commerce, history, and law surrounding alcohol - even if you don't drink alcohol.

I'm not a pothead. Don't use it, never have. I'm not a CBD user. Don't use it, never have. Don't care at all if Carnival bans it. Don't care if Carnival bans tobacco smoking (my preference would be a tobacco ban also).

Oh, ok. Then I was correct initially. You are here just to enforce pedantry and argue about something you don't even care about.

    Have fun!

Using CBD is like alcoholism (is alcohol intoxicating?) and people who try to take it on a cruise should seek professional help (rehab?).

The analogy with alcoholism appears to be referencing the potential for addiction. Stop putting words in other people's mouths. It's quite disrespectful.

Seeking professional help is not the same as going to rehab. People addicted to nicotine sometimes seek professional help to quit. If you would stop conflating ideas that are similar but not the same, you might have more productive conversations.

Look, I think we all understand your position. You're a pothead who is BigMad that you are not allowed to partake on a cruise ship. Bummer, dude.

Yes, someone actually did. They also said it was intoxicating, and anyone who "needs" it should be in rehab.

The only post in this thread with the word "rehab" in it is the quoted post of yours.

The only posts in this thread with the word "intoxicating" are 3 posts of yours.

The only posts in this thread with the phrase "schedule 1" are 5 posts of yours, mine calling you out, and one where mz-s stated that scissors are not a schedule 1 drug.

Are you certain you're not mixing up multiple threads or reading more words in posts than were actually typed?

Regardless, the status of CBD or THC as schedule 1 drugs is absolutely immaterial to the discussion of whether Carnival has reason to ban either or both and whether Carnival was extreme in their handling of the specific instance of a passenger attempting to bring such on board.

    Details matter.

One is an illegal, intoxicating schedule I drug.

The other is a legal (in the USA), non-intoxicating, drug that isn't even on the drug schedule .

You keep repeating this pedantry as if anyone claimed that CBD is a schedule 1 drug. No one did and whether it is or not is immaterial to the discussion. Unless the product is CBD isolate, which few readily available consumer products claim to be, it is full- or broad-spectrum and contains, at least, trace amounts of THC. If the product does contain THC, there is a limit of 0.3%, as mentioned by another poster, for a product to be labeled as CBD legally.

If you still have to pay a gratuity on every package drink served onboard it is clearly not 'Free at Sea' so technically you could say its a lie.

Obviously, my joke went over your head. You do not pay a gratuity on each drink covered under the package. You pay gratuities for the whole package up front. In this way, it is "Free at Sea" because you pay the costs before you leave land. It's disheartening to need to explain a simple joke...

You are still paying a hefty tax and gratuity on this though, yet still cheaper than buying it outright. NCL fails because they say it's FREE, yet most people don't realize the additional gratitudes that get added automatically, so technically it is not free like they say. More like a reduced rate.

I’d call NCL’s offer false advertising. We still paid a few hundred in gratuities and fees. Then we realized we would still need to upgrade to premium plus to get the drinks we would want. Ends up being just as expensive as just buying the deluxe package from Royal.

You see, NCL calls their promotion "Free at Sea" because you pay for it prior to embarkation. Technically, they are not lying...

  9. I booked Thanksgiving week on the Koningsdam through a 3rd party. I got the HIA package which included:

    $125 OBC ($62.50 x2)

    WiFi for 2

    Signature Beverage package for 2

    Specialty Dining for 2

    Pre-paid Gratuities for 2

    $200 Excursion Credit ($100 x2)

When I check my booking on HAL's site on the Navigator app, I only see the dining and excursion credits. Should I see evidence of the other perks at this time or is it too early? If the latter, when should I expect to see HAL's acknowledgement of those?
