in the terms and conditions there this line item:
Components included in this offer have no monetary value, are non-refundable and non-transferable

I see that in the regular Free at Sea terms and conditions but I don't see it in the Free at Sea Plus terms and conditions.

If I was REALLY into listening to announcements in 6 different languages for hours I would sail with MSC every cruise.

Sadly i'm really not into that .. at all.

I've heard they only do the safety announcements in multiple languages on cruises departing from the United States now.  All other announcements are in English.

Which experience (Bella, Fantastica, Aurea, Yacht Club) did you book with MSC? Many NCL cruisers might not be familiar with MSC's experience structure.

With NCL, dining options are pretty much the same for everyone other than Haven. With MSC, when, where, and with whom you have dinner with can change based on experience level.

Fantastica with drink package included.   NCL was offering nothing more than one specialty restaurant extra but MSC I get the wifi package.

What weeks are you looking at and which itinerary.  I've been looking at MSC cruises for the last 2-3 months.  Fares are pretty comparable to NCL (until I found a huge deal with NCL for a Canada cruise later this month).

Sorry, I should have mentioned I'm solo but in the past I've gotten much better solo deals on NCL.  I'd understand if the sailings were full but they're not close to capacity on pretty much every sailing.

I'm booked for December 11th but the prices are similar for pretty much any week in Nov/Dec.  NCL can't touch MSC any week this year.

  5. I booked a balcony on the brand new MSC Seascape for half the price of an interior on NCL Encore!  I love NCL but there's no way I'm paying double for an interior cabin over a balcony.  And this wasn't just one particular week, it's pretty much every week until the end of the year.  I have a hard time believing they're going to fill their ships anytime soon with the crazy pricing.

I am currently on a cruise booked 2 weeks prior to sailing.  The only balcony cabins available were Free at Sea Guarantee Balconies and Sail Away (minimal perks) Balcony Guarantees.  I booked a Free at Sea Balcony Guarantee and was immediately offered the ability to bid in the upgrade program.  I chose not to, but it was offered.   I got my nice cabin assignment about a week later and was still offered the upgrade option.

I do not know if Sail Away Guarantees get the offer or not.

Thanks very much for responding.  I'm looking at the Free at Sea cabin so it looks like I'll be eligible for the upgrade bid.

  7. Would you recommend Celebrity Apex for a 35 year old single guy? I usually cruise with NCL but the prices for the Apex in December are amazing! Is it lively around the pool or at night? I don't need a party atmosphere but also don't want to be stuck on a ship with all older couples and everything shut down by 10pm.

  8. It's absolutely ridiculous that we're a week out from the 16th and still nothing from NCL!  They have to know by now if the cruise is a go or not.  If we're cancelled I have to pay a fortune to change my flights, I have two non-refundable hotels booked using air miles and transportation to and from Orlando airport.  With it being Easter week, the hotels are very expensive.  Even if I found out today, for me to switch to the Joy for "free" it would cost me the price I already paid for the cruise to switch everything.  So the cruise isn't "free" and I have to go through hours and hours of changing everything!
