I have decided to go ahead and buy the filter before my next cruise to help with the color when diving.

My camera came with a housing but I see most of the filters include a housing with it. Anyone know if the housing is different than what the camera would have came with? I'm trying to figure out how you put the filters on? I don't want to end up buying the wrong thing.

Definitely the way to go. They make filters specifically for the GoPro. For the official Gopro ones you have to buy the underwater supercase but there are third party ones that attach to the camera as it. With the official gopro one you actually have to remove the lense cover to put it in the supersuit underwater case and the filters fit over the case lens portion.

They offer a system to bid on an upgraded room and, if you are not in the YC, offer to upgrade your experience to YC.

That being said, they do drop the price. I am on Seaside in Oct too and the price dropped about $150 from my initial booking. I had to cancel and rebook, but did get the reduced price.

The boat is almost sold out from what I can tell so I don't expect there will be too many upgrade offers or price drops coming. Thanks for the info though.

The motion sickness would be my biggest deterrent, that is the main reason I picked a mid deck ship on a low floor.
I didn't see any crew entrance near the room - it is the second to the last room on the right side of the ship.
According to the photos I looked at of the plans, the rooms seem about the same size - difference being the ocean view window.
Ever since I booked that room, they have been desperate for me to get out of it, offering me multiple upgrade offers.
Current room IS an adjoining room - didn't realize it when I booked it - so I wonder if that could be why they want to try to get me out of it.

Probably is. They need adjoining rooms for families traveling and usually have  limited number. They probably are getting requests for them and don't have any available. Check the website and see if any adjoining rooms are still available to book. If not that will tell you what's up. If they can get you to move that's probably two rooms they can sell versus the one that's open they want to move you to.

  4. Stay midship if you suffer from motion sickness. Also check to see what is below or above the room. There is a reason they are trying to give it away. Look on the deck plan and see if there is a crew entrance near the room. Those doors open and close very early and late into the night as the crew moves around working on the ship. That is a big upgrade but you run the risk of being sick the whole time. Hope this helps.

  5. Does MSC offer discounted cabin upgrades prior to the cruise to booked passengers? Also, has anyone gotten a upgrade once they got on the ship? Was it a free upgrade? I will be sailing the Seaside in October.

  6. I believe MSC discounts the picture package on the website versus on the cruise but do they ever run any type of special to discount it even further if bought prior to sailing. It's going to be my 50th Birthday cruise and I am considering getting the unlimited package and making sure to take hundreds of pictures everywhere they take them.

Its very limited, definitely not Gelato, none of the drink packages include Gelato anymore.

Easy includes: Smirnoff, Bacardi White, Dewar's, Seagram's 7, Gordon's, and maybe on or two other specific liquors. 2-3 whites by the glass, 1 pink, 2-3 reds. Prosecco and Asti. 2 beers, Miller Lite and Heineken. All Non-alcoholic drinks.

Specific cocktails: Moscow mule, Long island ice tea, Greyhound, rum and coke (or other mixer), vodka lemon (or other mixer), 7 and 7, etc.  Very basic mixed drinks.

And any drinks $6 ans under, which basically also includes Campari and Aperol. .

It's extremely basic, and very specific. No tequilas. No liqueurs. No frozen alcohol drinks or Pina colada, etc.  There's a workaround: order virgin frozen drink and shot of Liquor and mix together.

Personally, we'd upgrade to Premium every time. The Easy package, while it works fine for many, simply doesn't cover what either of us drink. It's the difference in price between the two packages. Do it in advance and you don't pay the service charge...

The Easy menus have been posted lots of times.  Heres the list again - these are the specific drinks available.  Modify-able, within reason, ie Vodka tonic or Dewar's ginger.  Can't swap brands though.
