  1. When I want to see cabins available I use the website that the large store sells the 1.50 cent hot dogs and the pizza that we love.  You do not need a membership to go online and look at their travel section.  Don't know how to explain it more.  Begins with a "C".  I go there a lot to check out cabins even though I know that it might not be completely accurate.

  2. We were on a Christmas cruise once and it was enjoyable to watch the kids with Santa.  Everyone had a great time including the grown ups!!  On another note, I would be more than willing to pay 29.95 for a picture with Santa if our grandchildren could go with us on a Christmas cruise.

  3. We had this on our 2022 Grand Africa cruise and I think that was kind of a test and  i am glad they are doing this on the shorter cruises.   It is really something and you will truly enjoy it.  😀

I do have pictures but have never posted on the CC board. Maybe it is time to learn.

      ENJOY!!

  4. We have been on the Zaandam four times and in 2022 we spent 106 days in an inside cabin.  The insides are larger than the mid size ship inside cabins.  However, the shower is quite small with a curtain.  It did not bother us, just go with the flow.

Yes, you will find tuna melt at the sandwich station.  You can order your tuna melt and then go to the dive in and get your fries.  They are NOT the McD's fries.   DH got in good with the ice cream man and he would save  him some raspberry ice cream.  That is a hint.

I could go on and on but I am sure no one wants to read it.  Have a wonderful cruise.

Our favorite ship!!  Wish we were going.

    Happy sailing!!

  5. WOW!  We never knew this was also for retired teachers.  32 years but I will have to go back and see what I have that will give us verification.  We save everything that is important so I should have something.  A Big Thanks!!!

  6. We were on the 2022 Grand Africa cruise and because of tidal conditions we missed the port of Gambia.  We had a private tour scheduled that would have taken us to a school where we had many school supplies to be distributed.  We were able to give the supplies to another school at another port but were disappointed about not going in to Gambia.  Even though the conditions are not good and the infrastructure is bad we realize that this is Africa.  We tried to make the best of every port, even getting lost in down town Senegal and the natives helping us find the shuttle bus back to the ship.  Would we go around Africa again?  Absolutely!!

I have enjoyed reading your blog because it has brought back so many memories and especially the MDR menus.  Thanks for taking us along.  Enjoy the remaining days of your cruise.

  7. If rice comes with that particular entree you can always ask for a baked potato or any other kind of potato that is on the menu that night.  I have done this several times.   At our table one night someone asked for a side order of green beans and they brought enough for the whole table.  I like iceberg lettuce but never got it in the MDR, only at the Lido salad buffet.

    Enjoy!!

  8. Is the Have It All only for new bookings?   After logging into HAL it seems that our cruise has had a decrease in price.   Some times they will not let you take advantage of the promotions if you are previously booked.  Thanks for any answers.

  9. I do not understand his thinking.  What is going to happen when a ship goes in to port and the Port Authority says......   Is everyone on your ship vaccinated including passengers and crew?  If not your ship cannot dock here.

We are on 2 cruises in 2022 and I can very easily see that happening.  I believe Iceland has already said that everyone has to be vaccinated.  Please correct me if I am wrong.
