so if we wanted to disembark (without luggage) in the morning, spend the day in Dubai, return to ship for dinner, then disembark for good (with luggage) around 11pm that would be possible? any special approvals needed?
Yes, you can do everything you said. No need for special approvals. But on the morning of the arrival you have a mandatory passport check with the Emirati authorities. Just came back from Opera this week so trust me with this. They even started Airport transfers with MSC at 2 a.m. for people with early flights.

Let´s collect some information about the EXPO cruises from MSC. The EXPO, which was delayed because of the pandemic, finally started at 1 October 2021 and will last until 31 March 2022. MSC changed their boats also, the Lirica is not there now, but the Opera and the Virtuosa (both starting 28 Nov). Also the free EXPO tickets from MSC are gone, at least they don´t advertise them anymore. Anyway, the tickets are really cheap compared to normal EXPO prices. Note that you get a free ticket if you fly Emirates or Etihad.
There are free shuttle busses from many places in Dubai and also Abu Dhabi to the EXPO. I meanwhile found out where the relevant shuttle close to the Dubai cruise terminal starts:
- Al Ghubaiba –next to Al Raffa Police station or Al Satwa Star Building (bus route 292 – it is available from Sustainability Expo Rider Gate to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and vice versa)
No idea about the layout of the cruise terminal, could be a short walk (less than 1km) or a long one (3 km). The busses should run every 15 minutes.
Certainly MSC also offers trips to the EXPO from Dubai port. These are priced 29 € (under 18, over 60) and 59€ (others). Yes, you are guessing right, entrance is free for juniors and seniors.
From Abu Dhabi the shuttle busses run from these three places:
- Abu Dhabi International Airport Station. Service frequency is every 20 minutes.
- Marina Mall Station. Service frequency is every 20 minutes.
- Abu Dhabi Main Bus Station. Service frequency is every 20 minutes.
None of these is really close to port. Maybe other cruisers have information about the options to leave the port area in Abu Dhabi.
Hi. Opera was canceled. No longer going to Dubai.

On the same itinerary on December 25th. Curious enough they just signed a deal with the Saudis and Bellissima will start cruises from Jeddah in just a couple of days time. Waiting to see if they allow people outside of Saudi Arabia.

Splendida is or will be sailing from Trieste over the summer.
Splendida is already sailing from Trieste and they are offering a shuttle transfer from Venice Airport to Trieste for 25 euros per person one way.
For Magnifica and Orchestra sailings this summer they will use Monfalcone (around 90 minutes transfer by bus and return transfer to Venice at the end of cruise).

Goodness! Their website hasn't even been updated with that info ( I checked the USA version as well as the UK one).
I got fed up with the lack of clarity and decided to just drop MSC for the end of August and went with a UK based Anthem of the Seas cruise instead.
They just updated it https://www.msccruises.com/en-gl/Itinerary-Updates.aspx

Apparently they canceled Musica's short cruises to Ibiza until October 19th. Now the first Musica Cruise available is October 24th Venice - Durban.
They also canceled Poesia's cruises to Turkey from the end of October until the end of November. Now the first Poesia cruise available is on December 21st.
-
Only Schengen + 4 countries are allowed to cruise until the end of July. They extended the period for another month

Can U see any sailing prior to 7 Oct 2021?
I don't see any sailings prior to October 7 either but according to their website all Musica cruises until September 27 are canceled, so that leaves just a 10 days frame..
-
Both Lirica and Musica were scheduled to be in South Africa for the 2021-2022 season. Musica cruises are still on for now..
-
They also canceled Lirica's season in South Africa.
-
All Fantasia cruises until October 31st are canceled (all visiting Tunisia). The first Fantasia cruise is now scheduled on November 7 from Genoa.
-
They updated the info on their website. All cruises until the end of June are only for Schengen countries plus Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania (except for Virtuosa sailings).
-
On the website Orchestra sailings start on May 29 on the above itinerary.
Splendida is set to start on June 12.

I agree with what you say. Will Seaview be an "extra" ship in the Northern Europe or will she replace another ship? Maybe another ship will do the Mediterranean cruises so that they won't be cancelled?
It appears Splendid a cruises in Northern Europe will be cancelled. Official announcement on Monday.

Nothing announced but my guess is yes because no cruises listed on Magnifica on MSC's website from late May 2021 through late November 2021.
My gut feeling is that they were going to delay it, but when they saw that the situation was still pretty shaky, they decided to move Virtuosa to the UK and do the dry dock work on Magnifica.
Magnifica has been moored in Genoa since March 17th, which could make sense if they were going to do the stretch and dry dock work at Fincantieri, as they also did the stretch of four Musics-class ships.
They just loaded Magnifica cruises on the global website starting June 13 from Venice until November 10 when she will start her cruises from Genoa to Israel.
-
Grandiosa will sail on her current itinerary until at least the end of May. Her cruises from Barcelona are now scheduled to start in the first week of June.

That's good, much better than two more sea days. Do you know if that will be the new schedule until Palermo comes out of travel restriction?
That should be the case. Cagliari was used as a replacement port for Naples as well when Naples was in the red zone in December.

They have announced their summer 2022 Northern Europe cruises but indeed they haven't loaded them to their booking system. MSC Orchestra will be doing Northern Europe cruises leaving from Hamburg to the British Isles starting at the end of April 2022.

They have changed it to Schengen + 3 EU countries that are not in Schengen.

We have 2 cruises in Euro prices for this year, one in April with the prices stated above, and one in December with the new packages and prices:
-easy with the same price,
-easy plus with 44 euros per night, all beverages priced up to 8 euros, now including cordials and 10% discount on bottles of wine,
-premium extra with 62 euros per night, all beverages priced up to 13 euros, now including only 25% discount on bottles of wine and champagne (but it doesn't include all drinks by the glass anymore, and no more minibar drinks included),
-alcohol-free package with 23 euros per night, with a wide choice of alcohol free cocktails, so not all alcohol free drinks anymore apparently,
-minors package with 15 euros per night.
There are no special moments packages loaded, so it seems they are changing the prices and perhaps content as well, on those too.

Disembark MSC cruise in Marghera - how?
in MSC Cruises
Posted
Was on Sinfonia in November 2022 disembarking in Marghera. We were tendered onto Venice Stazione Marittima. The luggage was taken with another boat and we found it at the terminal. If you want to find another way to leave the ship in Marghera you should speak at the reception.
