Are your cruising days over?
Yes
I don’t believe in age or health discrimination.
I’m in my fifties and will give my extra cash to venues, sites, destinations, etc. that appreciate all walks of life.
discrimination: treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit.- 4

Yes, I'm really looking forward to spending two weeks sailing around the Caribbean looking at the places that I could have visited. And then not being allowed to disembark when we return to Jamaica. Just needs a hurricane to arrive to top it all off...
ROTFLMAO!!

hmmmm.................. the 70+ MADE the cruise industry.
If this happens, I will never take another cruise!
I'm in my 50's and think this suggestion is outrageous and discriminating. -

My daughter is on this ship (inside cabin). Food service has been slow and selections have been reduced somewhat, but she says there has been no shortage of food for them. Regardless, they are not very hungry because all they are doing is sitting around in their cabin.
Hugs and prayers you will see her soon!!

Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases by Johns Hopkins CSSE -
WOW............ this post got mean fast.
OP.............. THANK YOU for being honest about your child's fever, a few would not.
How is your child doing now? I hope better!
Did you eventually get your luggage back?
I would suggest contacting Royal via Facebook messenger (calmly)
tell them it has been over a week and you need HELP FROM THEM to file your insurance claim.
From your original post on page 1 >>>>1. We can’t even file a claim against our travel insurance until RCI communicates with us. Fortunately we appear to have a valid trip interruption claim.
2. Kid fell sick on the day of travel. No time to get a doc letter beforehand, and RCCL would never take our word for it.
I hope all goes well for you. It's a weird time to travel right now.

I see another ship is in limbo...............
MEXICO CITY (AP) — Operators of a British cruise ship that was turned away from its destination due to fears of the new coronavirus said Saturday they have chartered planes to ferry passengers home — but don't yet have permission to dock anywhere.
The Braemar, which had been scheduled to disembark its hundreds of passengers in the Dominican Republic on Friday, was still cruising through the Caribbean more than a day later, with no immediate word on where it might wind up.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines issued statements insisting that nobody aboard had symptoms consistent with the COVID-19 illness. Dominican officials had refused to allow the vessel into port due to what the company said were “a very small number of influenza-like cases on board.”
That left both those aboard the ship and people who had arrived in the Dominican Republic to start a new 14-day cruise aboard the vessel in limbo.
“Now that we have secured aircraft, we are continuing discussions with nearby Caribbean islands to confirm our next port of call, and acquiring the necessary permissions to land at the appropriate airports,” the company said in a statement.
“These discussions are ongoing, and whilst we are unable to confirm final arrangements on when these flights will depart, and from which island, we are having positive discussions with the relevant authorities,” it added.
It was one of at least three cruise ships turned away from Caribbean ports over the past week due to concerns over possible viral infections, though no passengers on any of the ships has been confirmed to have the disease.

Do you get a refund when the ships are denied ports of call?

I hope all this is over soon and our U.S.A. quarantined numbers stay low.
Americans should prepare for coronavirus spread in U.S., CDC says.....

I see another ship is denied entry. That is a LOT of money wasted for a trip.
The ship is carrying 4,196 passengers and crew members. All guests will receive a 50% refund and a future cruise credit valued at 50% of their cruise due to the change in schedule.
As Princess Cruises grapples with concerns of coronavirus onboard a ship in Japan, another one of its ships, the Caribbean Princess, was forced to turn around due to a norovirus outbreak.
At least 299 passengers and 22 crew members onboard the ship operated by California-based Princess Cruise Lines Ltd. have become sick, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The Health Ministry of Trinidad & Tobago said in a statement it denied the ship entry as a precautionary measure given the outbreak.
Norovirus is a stomach bug that hits about 19 million to 21 million Americans each year, according to the CDC. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramping.
