  1. I like to book a cruise up to 2 years in advance. Than way I get to look forward to it for a couple years before I sail. It helps me get through difficult times in my life, knowing that the trip is in my future.

I live in a small, upper level condo and have been sheltering since the beginning of March. I even get my groceries delivered. And any walks are at 5:30am to avoid other people. It is hard...very stressful...but I have a cruise scheduled in Feb 2022 and looking forward to that really helps.

However, if I still have to wear a mask 567 days from now or keep my distance from other people, then I will push the cruise further out. I will be traveling solo and after all this social isolation, I certainly don't want to feel isolated on the cruise.

  2. I am prone to getting sick in rough seas so a mid-ship cabin makes a big difference. Also, I found that being forward directly above the Galaxy Lounge subjected me to a great deal of noise in the evening. I could physically feel the vibrations of the music through my body and stayed out of the cabin until the evening shows were done. No results when trying to address this with staff. But I still continue to happily cruise on this ship - now just very careful which cabin I choose.

  3. I'm not cruising until January 2023. I was originally booked for World Cruise starting Feb 2022 but I became concerned a vaccine might still not be ready for distribution at that point. I am probably being way too cautious.  I did prefer the itinerary on the 2022 and 2023 does seem so far away.  But both are amazing cruises and I would feel more than lucky to be on either.

  4. Where I live, people are taking social distancing and shelter-in-place very seriously. I can't walk towards anyone without them veering off the sidewalk into the grass or abruptly crossing the street. There is a dramatic change in traffic.  And there are indications that the current policys in my northern california hotspot are working.  I love to cruise but won't again until there is a vaccine for Covid-19.  Since I have been reading that having a vaccine ready for distribution in 12 to 18 months might be overly optimistic, I have recently cancelled my cruise in 2022 and booked one for 2023.  I also want any country I visit to have had some time to recover. And yes, I am an old person so in a high risk category with parents that are even older.

  5. It will be interesting what changes are put in place.  I would think, in order to reassure passengers, that at least a few changes would be made. Wonder about the difference between cruise lines or if changes will be about the same. For myself, I will not cruise until there is a vaccine available for Covid-19.  In the hopes of that, I have placed a deposit for a cruise in 2023. Long time away but very excited.
