Around March 24th we applied for a full refund for a May 21st Radiance cruise out of Barcelona. I've contacted CCL, filed a credit card dispute and still waiting for our 4 cabin refund.  It's been 126 days and they are still making interest off of our $12K!!!!  Ridiculous!!!

It is hard to figure out what is going on with refunds. I filed online  but someone said call, so I did and received the refund back to my CC  in 13 days    126 days is just not acceptable   I sure hope you resolve the issue

For those who have received refunds, did you get any type of email or notification that the refund was issued? Or did you find out by noticing the credit on your credit card or when new gift cards pleasantly showed up in your mail?

All I did was check my CC online. The only thing I got from Carnival was the cancellation notice right after I spoke to the Carnival rep

  3. I guess we were darn lucky, getting a refund 13 days after cancellation by Carnival. Apparently the rep I spoke to had a lot to do with it as we chatted for quite a bit and he told me he was processing it manually and it would be within two weeks and it was. I can certainly see why so many are frustrated with the process. I only can wish you all well and you come out fine

I know that the Covid has controlled much of our lives lately.  My hubby and I are Diamond + & both members of the Club Royale.  I have had 5 cruises cancelled since the Covid, as i am sure, some others have.  I am throwing in the towel......I am so sick of booking, being hopeful, only to have my cruise cancelled.  My computer is full of post its, trying to track the refunds that I am getting.  Although we truly love and miss cruising, we are just not going to do it anymore....

Same with us  Enough is enough

Hi! We were booked on the same cruise I think,Dream 9/14.  Are you re booking? We are thinking May 2021

We have just given up for now even giving up the $325 OBC which would have paid for our drinks. As long as the CDC is running the show it's hard to say what will happen.  If I would have rebooked it would have been May 21 so must be thinking like you

It doesn't recognize my booking number and my PVP has probably been furloughed because i"ve been emailing her for weeks and no response. Guess I'll try calling when the wait time is less than it was earlier.

The number that works quickly for me is 800-438-6744  and when prompted enter ex  70025  and when the recording says new booking select that

  7. As far as our situation, I did the online cancellation and got an email response but decided to call anyway and the very nice agent  told me it had not been cancelled yet as the online method is very slow. So he went in an manually processed the cancellation and said it should take about two weeks. He could not have done a better job and all the figures were verified as well, so at least I feel better about this part of it. Could not believe I was connected in two minutes.

  8. I did mine on line  and  shortly thereafter received an email saying

Thank for you making your online selection. This email acknowledgment confirms that your request has been submitted. By using this automated process, you are helping us efficiently process the many cancellations resulting from our recent announcement. We appreciate your patience as we continue our temporary work from home status related to office closures in South Florida. We are committed to processing all requests as quickly as possible, and look forward to seeing you on board again in the near future. Please stay safe and healthy.

I'd go with the Refund pronto.....Carnival seems to have a pattern of cancelling cruises every 2-3 months, if you re-book who's to know when the next " Carnival announces delay"  story appears...the same as giving Carnival the use of your money not knowing when it gets repaid. I think with the last delay, it appears the possibility of  bankruptcy...becomes more clear....lots of questions over who would be refunded in Chapter 11 Court?

I just went with a refund. This crud has gotten old. They will probably fold

We're in the same spot as a lot of you-- two canceled cruises  so far-- some of the money has gone back on our card and some is in FCC, but I cannot find a place on the carnival site to see what our actual amount of FCC is.  Can someone point me in the right direction for that?

Sorry  I thought it was OBC  My bad

Florida was averaging about 700 a day before June 1 reopening!

We had 17 straight days over 1000 new infections, the last 2 days were 3144, and 4049!

I'm not getting into the arguments of why, more testing, reopening, or protesters, just stating the numbers are going up far higher then we've ever had!

So it's doubtful ports in Florida are going to open up, and welcome out of state passengers any time soon!

As far as those mentioning bars in Florida, been seeing news where bars are shutting themselves down because of outbreaks of virus with customers and/or staff!

And those mentioning bankruptcies, if Carnival ever went bankrupt,  it would be a chapter 11 reorganization, where they'd survive, and come back with the same name, not much would change!

Bankruptcy isn't likely for some time as Carnival has approx. 9 billion dollars from loans, secured notes etc. as reported on May 1!

    Hope you are right

  12. I just called Carnival, 30 minute hold time, and the agent said there would be an announcement on Monday  and if his assumption is correct our Sept 14  Galveston cruise will be cancelled, just like our May cruise. We all just keep going round and round. I asked him, OK , if it is cancelled again should I re book 5 years from now.  Starting to get very frustrated  just like many of you I am sure. If it is cancelled I want to try for May 2021 , and if so, you watch, the prices will be sky high..

It was put to rest. As I said above it comes and goes. IT malfunction

I'm sure cruiselines know most seniors wouldnt cruise with them again. I'd find another way to vacation. Seniors are their bread and butter who doesnt have to worry about 2 week vacation time, can do 5 to 10 cruises a year they would lose.

Imagine having this hanging over your head to get it signed within a week before you cruise. I wouldn't book and either would most seniors. Carnival knows they would lose a large part of their cruisers. So do other lines. No doctor would sign and take on the liability.

I do expect to sign my life away liability wise on a new health form when I board, releasing carnival too.

Yes it's not in faqs anywhere. I've looked.

Sorry I got mad. Being told it would be easy to get a doctor to sign off  set me off,, but I shouldnt have reacted. Sorry. Good night.

This is an answer to my email to Carnival

    Thank you for your email.

In reference to your email, we anticipate several new operating procedures and protocols when we return to service.  Decisions about underlying health conditions will be made in consultation with the CDC closer to sailing.  If you believe your personal health might impact your ability to cruise, you can choose to cancel and receive a future cruise credit in the amount of the non-refundable cancellation fees. All other requests for sailings beyond 9/3 with the exception of Alaska and ships mentioned for Miami, Port Canaveral, and Galveston) will need to be deferred until we have made a definitive decision and we are closer to your departure.
