This is the second day on Celebrity Beyond.  We noticed an odor the second we opened the door we are also on the 11th floor.  It smells like old paint or a bad odor covered up by too much air fresheners, although this smell is not Fresh at all.  We told our attendant who tried his best, three different time, then the night supervisor,  the pillows are permeated so they changed out bedding.  It still smells. Any ideas what we can do?

Ask to be moved.  What cabin are you in?

We were on that same cruise and I wholeheartedly agree there were no Officers visible around the ship.

We didn’t go to any shows which, from what I heard from others, was the only place they saw the Officers.

It didn’t have the feel of any of our other cruises.

We did have a chance to speak to the GRM, Julie and she injured her leg and was hobbling and told to stay off her feet.  She was however at the gangway saying Good Bye to guests as we departed.

We had excellent service in the dining rooms.  We didn’t get the feeling they were overwhelmed but the  bar staff in some bars just seemed like they were not particularly interested in working.

I kept telling myself I wouldn't get into this but.....

After 10-15 years of mostly Celebrity we took the family on a RC cruise last month to celebrate

our 65th anniversary.  We started out with many RC cruises when younger but found Celebrity to be a bit more upscale but not as pricey as others, and it's suits us just fine.  You don't often see shorts (men or women) in the DR but it's definitely not as "dressy" as it used to be.  The comparison with RC is totally different.  On our Harmony cruise, there were lots of shorts, flip flops, baseball hats (frontward and backward), just more casual,  which suits the many families having a wonderful vacation without regard to formalities.

We prefer Celebrity continue to request guests to remove hats, wear shoes (even tennis shoes), and dress up just a little in the DR.   Is putting on a pair of pants and a short too much to ask? The buffet is perfect if you're not interested in doing that.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment.  Happy cruising all!

Agree!  Will be interesting to see what we experience on our November cruise on Beyond.

  4. At least someone is reading the questions!  I agree her answers are sometimes lame. Time will tell if things change or not.  I have 4 more cruises booked, if we decide Celebrity isn't something we want to spend our $$ on, we can  always move on!  We have loved Royal in our younger years, and now have been enjoying Celebrity for many years.  After 44 cruises we have definitely seen the changes.  Sad....

Never this, but last year on our cruise we celebrated our 30th anniversary on board. We were entering Blu and the Maitre D pulled us aside and told us that the Captain wanted to treat us to dinner in Tuscan that night. Not only did he treat us to dinner, but he and the Hotel Director personally delivered us a cake and we were also given a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries. So nice! Something we will always remember

We have been lucky to do this three times way back when.  It was so much fun!  Food was excellent!

All of our ships, including the Edge Series, have standard balconies, and we can have someone contact you to help you find the right stateroom for you for your next voyage.  The infinite veranda category is truly loved by some and not enjoyed by others. Given that our guests have a range of stateroom preferences we will have infinite verandas on our next class of ships--we just will not have as many. It will be essential for us to get to the right mix to meet everyone’s preferences, and we will do that.

    We love the IVs!

I am in my 60's and want to try  Virgin Voyages  just because from what I have been reading it is a totally different experience from what I have experienced on Royal, Celebrity and Princess. It seems more relaxed and informal. There is no MDR and All specialty restaurants are included.  The entertainment is more progressive with a Drag Queen performance. It's adults only so the comedians are more colorful.  With that said, based on the above statement wanting a refined experience I would recommend  Celebrity. I would suggest that you go over the the Virgin Voyage page and decide for yourself.

I agree. We have not done Virgin ourselves mainly because our TA and other friends tried it and didn't like it.  It's geared towards a younger crowd we were told, among other things.
