It worked one night on the Wonder. I was crushed because I didn’t bring any other hair appliance. I trusted they would have a good hair dryer and was disappointed. I’m hoping my $500 appliance will work back home, but never again will I trust it on a cruise ship.

Leaving 9 weeks from tomorrow!

I am doing an Eastern Med cruise in June on the Reflection, but I am not into ruins at all. I am mostly interested in the beauty of the coastlines, shopping, and good food. I am considering skipping Ephesus and just exploring Kusadasi coastal restaurants and maybe pigeon island. However the reviews of Ephesus are across the board excellent. Would it be a mistake to skip Ephesus? On that same note, would a drive by view of the Acropolis be sufficient in Athens with a focus on Plaka shopping?

The train station is a ten minute walk from the pier, to the left side as you exit the cruiseship terminal. You can buy a R/T train ticket at the train terminal - trains are quite frequent to Taormina. At Toarmina train station there is a connecting bus that takes you up to the town (cost extra, but cheap). Return is the reverse. There is a cablecar that takes you down to the beach from the town. Side-by-side to the Messina Train Station is the bus depot. You can also take a bus directly to the town of Taormina, just as fast (maybe faster since you do not need to wait for the busride up after the train.)

Somewhere in this thread I thought someone said the bus doesn't take you all the way up and a cab the rest of the way is 15E? Can anyone clarify that? Also, the scenic taxi ride sounds tempting. Does anyone who did that think it is faster than the train/bus?
