  1. My experience:

Dropped off luggage at ship. Porters loaded on carts. Drove to garage, walked to ship, about a 5 minute walk. Went through passport check and x-ray machine for carry on. Then to another line where they check passport (again), vaccination card and COVID test results. Then to another waiting area to actually board the ship. Whole process took a out an hour.

Great to be sailing again!  Thanks to everyone for your help and the mouth.

While we do tip folks should be aware these folks are members of the Longshoreman Union who make an average of about $55,000 + all those nice tips.  The irony is that in most cases they are making a lot more then the Princess employees.

    Thank you

Porters are available at disembarkation to help get your luggage to the car but I've never seen them moving luggage from the car to the terminal at embarkation.  As avonlady6390 said, passengers are expected to drop the luggage off before parking.  See the info on embarkation and disembarkation on the Port Everglades website (https://www.porteverglades.net/cruise/arriving-and-departing/).

    Thanks, great info.

  4. Hello all, driving to Lauderdale for Emerald departing on Tuesday, parking in the port parking lot. I've never sailed out of there so was wondering if they have someone who takes your luggage to the ship like they do at the airport?  Are they princess employees? How much do you tip?  How do you know they are legit?  I think of someone saying they will get it to ship then absconding with it. Ok, maybe I'm a bit paranoid 🌝

How'd i miss that?  I know, I stopped reading after i saw the first beers. Thanks. I'd hate to have to drink vodka for 10 days.

We got offered $100 FCC to not cancel in March 2020 a week before they cancelled all ships.

I don't see this happening again, especially at $500 OBC.

I don't either. As others stated, there are probably many people waiting for a spot.

  7. I'm scheduled on the November 16th Panama Canal cruise but if mask mandates are still in effect I will most likely cancel/reschedule.

So my question is:  Has Princess offered something to not cancel?  If so, what was it?

Also, what would it take for you to not cancel?  I know I'm dreaming but a substantial on board credit might change my mind, say $500 or more.

  8. I called my PVP to cancel my November 16th Panama Canal cruise as I'm not happy with wearing a mask in the casino, which is where i spend most of my evenings, but i digress.

She informed me that this requirement is (for now) only for cruises departing through the end of October due to the delta variant. It could be lifted earlier or extended.

I seen the other thread on this topic but couldn't read over 400 replies to see if this was mentioned.

    Happy cruising.

  9. Got an offer to have five beers delivered to my cabin for the price of four at a cost of almost $28. That's almost $7 a beer (regular price) probably not including gratuity.

This definitely makes the drink package well worth it to me. The last time i cruised beer was about $5.

If you did NOT book through a TA, call or use the chat function. I just did and it was released this morning. If you used a TA then I think you have to go through them. And actually I do not see a release time difference between FCC and FCD.  But then I use a PVP who either does it while we are on the phone or when she gets to it that day

Used PVP. Gonna call again Monday, if she doesn't answer, will speak to whomever i can get a hold of.

    Thanks.

The OP is asking about FCC, not FCD. Those take longer (think 45-90 days); if you have another cruise that you are booking and want it applied to, call Princess and tell them; they will put a longer hold on the deposit requirement/final payment of the new cruise for you.

Thanks. Actually it is both however the deposit isn't that much.  The FCC is quite substantial as it's when they were doubling deposits from pandemic cancellations.  It will practically pay for this cruise.  Final payment not due until mid August so plenty of time.
