Because like all "law enforcement", there is a fine line between having sufficient presence to deter/catch wrong-doers, and feeling like a police state with regular patrols every 5 minutes.

If security doesn't know there is a bluetooth speaker annoying someone somewhere, they might not ever know if they aren't patrolling around in that area.  Maybe it's an area that hasn't normally been a problem, so they are hanging around the clubs or the pools or the casino or wherever there might be a more regular incident.

If they start enforcing it around common areas where they know there is a problem, we can talk. They know there is a problem. If they cant figure it out I will leave them to it until they do. Not a loss to me.

Yes, if you have a compliant you need to put it in front of the people who can resolve it.  How does Security know if loud music is being played on the balcony next to you?

Referring to speakers by the pool not my balcony. How do they know? They have acknowledged the problem, they know.

  3. To the people that ask did you call security  did you go to guest services, why is that MY job? I'm on vacation, they know there is a problem, they need to look for it and correct it. We have done over one hundred cruises, mostly with carnival, but dont even have one booked with them now, and 11 booked with. various other lines.

Speak to them with your money folks.

  4. You can book up until the ship has zero passengers and the nee manifest is loaded into the ships system. Will there be anything available? Maybe, maybe not. Passengers who book with 24 hours or less before sailing are subject to those extra security checks someone mentioned.

From 1130 pm to 100 am on a daily basis there was a mini buffet available on the Mardi Gras this past week.  Mac n cheese with pulled pork, two sandwich choices and fruit and cookies were available.

Also, Quest has returned as "Adult Game Night".  Was held in the Punchliner Lounge this past week and scheduled again for later this week.  The game was even raunchier than it was in the past and a good time was had by all.  As usual, no details can be given since what happens at "Adult Game Night stays at Adult Game Night."

Cut backs continued as the Australian Wagu at the steakhouse was replaced by a skirt steak.  Bottled Pure Leaf iced tea is no longer available as well as the bottled Starbucks coffees.

The inclusion of the 50th birthday MDR options was a nice improvement over our February sailing with such options as Wiener Schnitzel on night 3.  Overall, the front end of our B2B was typical Carnival fun and hopefully the bar will be raised again when the Celebration joins the fleet in November.

We had "adult game night" on Dream this week.

As the cruise director said, "here's what you came for"

TERRIBLE.  We've used the hanging tag Continental breakfast nearly every day on every cruise. It literally serves as our alarm clock, as necessary. For those that know, does the house phone have a wake up call feature?

Your room phone has it, yes

  7. Most likely? From CDC.

"One of the problems with recent COVID-19 infections is that a patient may continue to test positive for weeks or even months after the infection has cleared up from the body. A positive COVID-19 test in a patient who has recovered from COVID-19 and who no longer has any symptoms will most likely indicate that the test is detecting non-infectious virus fragments and the patient is no longer infectious."

I see this blanket statement every now and then and I think it does a disservice to CCL. Every single time I have been able to identify which balcony smoke is coming from I have called Guest Services and every single time they have sent security to that cabin. So maybe that didn't happen in some people's experience or maybe it couldn't be identified as to which cabin it was coming from, but by the same token, do we know that RCL or NCL handles these situations any better?

I've seen carnival security and employees walking by smokers on the lido and not say a thing to them. They don't enforce their rules enough period. I'm not security, dont leave it up to me to go find someone to tell. They need to do a better job.

  9. You definitely need a car to get around Houston if you are staying a few days. Car drip off is limited in Galveston.  What you might consider is renting the car at the airport, returning it to the same place on cruise day, and take the carnival shuttle to the port. Remember to purchase it in advance.
