  1. I am trying to create place where we can share all things about sailing from Galveston:

Where to park advantages and disadvantages. Refund policies, covered/uncovered, comparative prices, etc.

Tips on how to get in and out of both terminals (Royal Caribbean and Carnival).

Places to spend the night and whether they are inexpensive or expensive, have parking and or shuttling.

Places to eat inexpensive or inexpensive

Any new sailings either cruise line may be offering that are different from their normal schedules.

Info you may have heard about what ships are coming or leaving.

Status and updates on the new dock that will  take Oasis size ships.

    Airport info.

Port cameras, maps anything you think might help someone cruising out of Galveston

Thanks for helping people cruising from Galveston both newbies and old hands.

  2. I am retired and check prices with my morning coffee almost daily. Three or 4 years ago I would occasionally see as much as $50 discount for seniors or state you are from . These have now gone to single digit or zero. I have become lax on checking the difference but I still check both boxes when I enter my C&A # (number, not hash tax youngsters). If you are going to spend $1500 to $5000 it is a bit of an insult to give me an $8 discount. I would really prefer doing away with this and surprise me with something a little more substantial based on my points/cruises. I know lots of us get balcony discounts, you may have noticed they are less than a few years ago, that is not a surprise. I love RCL and I never (well once because they did not go to Key West out of Galveston then and a few times on Princess when they went out of Houston because they killed RCL on price) cruise anyone but RCL.......but am I the only person who feels they ask for LOYALTY more often than they extend it??

  3. Biker 19,

Thanks for the input. I was totally confused about my Oct '21 cruises. They are on the Explorer not the Jewel!!!! We are booked on the Jewel for Jan/Feb of '21and are still waiting for news about crusing or cancelling. I sure hope for everyone's sake the C19 is under control by Oct '21. I still have not been able to get any help about my refunds for the 3 that were cancelled. Happy sailing.

We had 3 cruises on the Jewel scheduled for October 2021 that were cancelled.   Has anyone received refunds?  They owe us $1100.00.  Wouldn't let us move deposits.   So far have received $10.18 & $441.38.  Makes no sense.  Any ideas?

I have 2 cruises in Oct 2021 and have received no info on cancellations. That is 11 months from now!!!! I'm surprised there would be cancellations so far in advance. Are you sure it is not a scam or joke or mistake? My 2 cruises have gone down twice this month and I received new paper work with the lower price both times. I did have 4 cruises cancelled in 2020 and the refunds came in amounts that did not equal room, tax, or insurance amounts. I was told it is due to an odd accounting system that no one understands. I have asked multiple times (as far back as June of this year) to be contacted by some one who can tell me what they owe me and when I might get it. As usual no response from RCL.
