While I don't have any personal experience with this scenario, my understanding is that once you accept a FCC that money stays a FCC if there is an additional cancellation. So you should still have a 450 FCC floating around somewhere.
Thanks.
They dont have any reference to it in any of the statements.
All that seems to have happened is they knocked the original FCC off the price of the second cruise, even though its not written down anywhere.
When I called to book the second cruise I asked would I get the money paid plus the FCC back should RCL cancel the second cruise and I was assured that I would.
Surely they cannot keep my money after all of this.
I regret spending €40k over the years with RCL so much right now.
I would think that they would learn to treat a customer fairly after that tbh
They wont be getting a penny from me ever again at this point.
I'll let you know how i get on with them if i ever get through on the phone.

In early 2019 I booked a cruise leaving in July 2020.
After covid made it clear it would not allow us to cruise I cancelled for FCC in April 2020.
RC game me FCC of €450, which was the deposit I had paid.
In May 2020 we booked a new cruise going in July 2021.
We paid another €450 deposit and RCL took the original FCC of €450 off the price of the cruise, which brought the price to €3200.
Then at the start of May I made final payment of €2750, so we are fully paid up.
RCL cancelled July 2021, so i opted for full refund.
Yesterday they sent me a statement of what is to be refunded.
It amounts to €3200.
Now I paid out €450 (2019 deposit for the first cruise) + €450 (2020 deposit for send cruise) + €2750 (final payment for the second cruise).
RCL are only giving me back €3200 when in total i paid €3650 in total.
Anyone else having this kind of issue where their old rebook FCC is just gone missing?

There will be a big sign on the ship saying "Cancelled" when you arrive at the port 🙂
At least thats the way its going with RC and informing customers so far anyway.

I am waiting them out on my July sailing; I want a refund, not a FCC
Us too.
Never ever going to give another penny to RC.
Have had to cancel hotels and flights already as cannot get a refund on those if we wait any longer.
Even at this point wont get a full refund on them.
Now to see if we can get a holiday at home, since everything is now fully booked.
RC have really screwed us around here.

We are way, way behind that in Ireland. The rest of Europe, including Spain is too.

As nothing has been certain for anyone traveling the last 15 months, hopefully you booked refundable airfare, hotel, excursions, etc. It's not the cruise lines fault, they are all struggling to get restarted and at the mercy of either the CDC or other government agencies in other countries. I read posts on HAL and other lines and same complaints going on there that are going on here. Actually sounds like Royal is doing better as far as refunds and FCC's that other cruise lines.
Our cruise was booked long before the pandemic started.
We live on a small Island. Its not so easy to get to Barcelona these days for us.
Then there are people who had to arrange holidays from work etc.
Also there is the prospect now that if you leave the Island, when you come home you have to pay thousands to stay in a room in a hotel for two weeks.
Not to mention most of the population here wont be vaccinated until September/October.
For a lot of people its not as simple as hopping in a car and driving to the cruise port.

But unlike pre-COVID, they have a much better excuse now to screw people over.
And for sure they are certainly using it.

Not really, customers faced the same issues with a cancelation pre-COVID and RCI typicaly provided even less compensation.
What were the chances of a cruise line getting cancelled after final payment pre-covid?
Infinitely small I would think.
Their problem now is they are screwing around a hell of a lot of people.
True that a lot of people will forget about it.
But lots of those people will remember that RC could have been much better at this time.

Royal should delay final payment unless they know 100% they are or are not sailing. This is a disgraceful way to run a business.
They should held liable for incidental losses due to negligence also.
We had to make final payment for a 11th July cruise with RC.
RC seem to think that people are just into it for the cruise fare when planning a cruise holiday.
Many people have booked flights, hotels, airb&bs, activities and trips for the weeks either side of their cruise as they are not even from the place where the cruise is leaving.
Theses things all cost money and must be cancelled, losing deposits etc, if not cancelled within 60 days of the booking. So what do you do cancel everything else and cruise goes ahead, or keep everything else and have a hole in the middle if the cruise doesnt go ahead.
Its shocking behavior from RC.
We will lose money on other things we have booked before and after the cruise if it doesnt go ahead now.
And today I have to make a decision to cancel whatever else I can cancel around it or i lose that money too. But we will lose money at this point no matter what we do, thanks to RC.
All the while, RC could have confirmed whether or not the cruise is going ahead, but wouldnt.
So after their behavior im afraid our almost 20 years of cruising multiple times per year with RC must come to an end.
We will find someone else to cruise with from now on.

Still no word from RC about July cruisies in Europe. Getting to the point where I have to cancel our flights or i wont get my money back for the flights.
-
What are they going to do if they have a full ship and it sails. Wont they have to halve the number of passengers.
-
Sounds like paying to go to prison.
And even worse, imagine a lockdown on a ship and you are in an inside cabin.
Don't think I would ever risk am inside cabin again as long as I live.
-
Because Spain are even worse than most of Europe with their vaccine schedule and the rest of Europe certainly won't be anywhere near fully vaccinated. Add to that that the ship is stopping in 3 different countries all of which are as bad as Spain for vaccines. I think the chances are slim to none.
-
I have a July 11th out of Barcelona.
And have to make final payment today. Everyone knows that ship wont sail, but RC are still playing their game with peoples money.
When they cancel we are just taking our money back and will never sail RC again after this messing about. Very bad customer care.
We have spent over €40,000 over the years with RC and this is how they act now, so we are finished with them now.

Being realistic now, not hopeful, does anyone that think there will be cruising before September. I don't mean just a few test cruises. And when there is cruising will all the fun be gone out if it with restrictions and modifications?
-
Its what happens every month before they announce the cancellations.

So you're hoping that September EU cruises don't happen because YOU don't want to cruise under certain conditions? Kinda selfish attitude I think.
I wouldn't interpret their post as selfish. They are just stating what they would like. No matter what they hope happens for their cruise has no bearing on anyone else's situation so noone should feel offended by them. So I wouldn't take it personally.

Watch any german news channel for the full story
So what is the full story then? Have they suddenly gone from 10% of adults fully vaccinated to 90% overnight. Or have they just decided to open up vaccinations to younger age groups as well as older but still have many months to go for the population to be vaccinated.

Royal looks like they will take my final payment for 25th July cruise. Still says £1706 and add a credit card number.
Mine is 11th July.

My final payment is due next week for a July Cruise leaving from Barcelona.
I just went onto the RC website to see if there was any notifications on it.
It doesnt say anything yet, but ...
Even though it has the cruise details on it, one thing I did notice is that there is no link anywhere to pay the final payment anymore.
Also under amount due it now says €0.00. Two weeks ago that said €3590.
So I went and tried to buy the coffee card as its only €28 just to see what happened, and it wouldnt complete the order.
That together with being told before that there is going to be an announcement about cancelled cruises in Europe this week by RC, is adding up to me being even more sure now that we are cancelled already but just have not been told.
Really it would be just politeness on RCs part if they would just announce these things sooner rather than later, so they have time to make alternative plans for their holidays.

Announced today, anybody in Germany 18 years or older can get vaccinated with Astra-Zeneca. All that is necessary is to make an appointment.
Better if you try to get the full story rather than take one soundbite of it. It's not really hard to find out how many people have been vaccinated in Germany if you really wanted to look.

Exactly, the Harmony is already floating around the Med. No reason why they cant do a Fall Season.
Have you seen the vaccination progress in Europe.
-

Already happening.
You couldn't be more wrong. Vaccinations in most parts of germany are opening up to all over 18's
Actually Germany have less than 10% of the adult population fully vaccinated. And only about 30% have had their first jab.

European countries liable to slap a 15 day hotel quarantine on new arrivals with very little notice. So you fly in and you get bussed straight to the prison, sorry, the hotel and you pay €2000 for the privilege of staying in your room for 14 days.
RCL not refunding previous FCC from 2020 sailing cancelled because of covid.

The difference is that I called and asked if I cancelled and rebooked a few weeks later when things settled down would that be ok. And they said of course it would.
So in good faith I cancelled and then rebooked for a time I thought a cruise would be able to sail.
Im afraid I just couldnt enjoy another one with them ever again knowing they had kept €500 from me.
Maybe its just me, but I just dont feel right funding a company who has had one over on me ever again.
