Here’s what I found for Nassau :
Fat Tuesday’s, Sharkees’s, Pirate Republic Brewing, Starbucks, Bearded Clam, & McDonald’s have free Wi-Fi.
I did a quick search on Google Maps of the Nassau port area.- 1

If you don’t mind staying at B&B, you can find cheaper price. Try Airbnb, flipkey, & vrbo etc. I booked a room near French quarter during Mardi Gras weekend for just $90 comparing to $300 for a hotel room.
I second this, although VRBO is more expensive than AirBnB. I researched for months to find a centrally located hotel that didn’t break the bank and had fairly decent reviews. The most cost efficient option I found was AirBnB. It’s significantly less expensive and to see the sites you can use the streetcar car, it’s only $3 for a one day pass. This will also save money on cabs/Uber/Lyft.

I just wanted to pop back and thank you for your suggestion. We ended up booking this and it was the highlight of our trip.
I saw so many sea turtles, sting rays, eagle ray, so many fish and lots of coral.
I highly recommend it for snorkelling. For a beach break, not so much.
The beach is small and the tide was out when we were there so it wasn't great for my 7 yo old to just swim. We rented a kayak for him and I hired a guide for $10 who took me out past the breakers. It was amazing. Thanks again!
I’m glad it worked out for you!! The tide can definitely effect the water level. I recommended the Beachgoers package because chairs are included. Then you can bring your own snorkel gear.

Due to the outrageous prices for hotels within the Port/Bourbon St/Mid City areas, I opted for an AirBnB. Two nights at the AirBnB, plus parking at the port, still was more cost efficient then staying at an area hotel. Even if the hotel included parking and a shuttle to and from the port.
I hope this helps.- 1

From what I’ve read/researched Deadman’s Reef at Paradise Cove in Freeport is your best option for easy snorkeling for a child. Here’s the website:
They pick you up at the port and it’s reasonably priced. If you book the Beachgoers package you can bring your own snorkeling gear. They also offer a snorkeling package.

Has anyone visited both Pirates Cove and Paradise Cove in Freeport Bahamas? I’d appreciate any input on both. Taking a cruise in September to the Bahamas and planning to take an excursion to one of the two. It seems like both get good reviews on TripAdvisor.
From my readings it seems like Paradise Cove is smaller and has better snorkeling. While Pirates Cove is larger an offers an excursion via the cruise line. Thanks for any help in advance!

If you want any easy excursion to see Key West, I recommend the Old Town Trolley. It’s about $50 through Carnival and you can hop on and off. It only takes about 2 hours to ride the full loop, which still allows time to grab food and drinks.
