- In order to ensure quality guides and sufficient transportation, we must provide the tour operator with guest counts at least two days in advance. Therefore, no refunds will be given within two days of any shore excursion.
- Tours require minimum participation levels to operate so please sign up as early as possible.
- Tours operate rain or shine.
- Online booking and cancellations will close seven days before your cruise sets sail.
- During this seven-day pre-sail period, you can cancel items by calling us.
- Once you arrive on board, you will have the ability to manage your shore excursions again, with one exception—all shore excursions that occur during the first two days of sailing will be non-refundable.
- Please note, whether an optional tour is booked through My Viking Journey or on board, refunds are only processed on board and will be applied as a credit toward your shipboard account balance. Should you have a negative balance at the end of your voyage, the refund toward your credit card will be processed on board. Please allow 14 business days for this to reflect on your statement.
this is pulled from the My Journey frequent questions and answers. I think we all prebooked and paid for excursions thinking this was Viking’s policy.
Since our Jupiter July 20th sailing missed the last port due to weather, I actually had a credit at the end of our cruise since our optional excursion didn’t take place. I paid for it with a credit card and didn’t see the credit after 14 days. I called to inquire and I was told they were sending a check. I received it about a week later.

Live from Viking Sky
And for those that like to collect such things we had a lovely certificate in our stateroom tonight regarding our crossing of the Arctic circle a day or two ago.
Class touch Viking.
TTFN
We didn’t get the certificates on the Jupiter.

Oak Ridge has always been a world leader! My aunt and uncle lived there for 40 plus years. Always enjoyed visiting them.
And you can get a growler filled. You can’t do that in Iceland

Oh I have a random question for those sailing these Back to the World cruises... is Viking still giving out those cute wool bags with the travel quotes? And if so what does yours say?
No, they have discontinued those as well as the selection of a welcome back gift. You are emailed your final documents which you have to print yourself.

For those of you asking about the tracking device, it just needs to accompany you wherever you are. You can put it in your purse, backpack, or other bag that you’re carrying. Look forward to meeting any of you who are on the Jupiter 07/20 sailing. We’ve been in Iceland for 4 days (our 4th time in conjunction with other cruises), and having a wonderful time! Iceland lifted its mask and social distancing restrictions last month (because its numbers of cases are very low), and we feel very safe here.
All packed and ready to join you aboard on the 20th!

Just went through kef customs today. They scanned barcode and cross checked computer information with your covid card and passport. Just the barcode was needed - we flew in on delta. Weather lovely. Light fleece yoga pants, tee shirt and llbean fleece for me with trail sneakers. Glenn a fleece over tee shirt and hiking pants with trail shoes. No rain and light breeze. In the wind my arms were cold. Tried the local beers - walked the old town. We’re on July 13 Jupiter Baleaf fleece yoga pants with leg pocket for phone is one of the best investments I made 👇🏻https://amzn.to/2oGqugs
Seeing that amber colored beer got an “Oooh” out of my husband. Do you recommend any brewery in particular?

I wish Viking paid attention to a person’s preferred airline on MyVikingJourney. I just got flights for a May cruise and none of the flights are on United even though I listed it as my preference. I went back and put in my frequent flyer numbers for Delta and Lufthansa, which they booked me on, but I have no status with either so none of the perks. It’s frustrating.
