  1. We are booked on the Vista January 27 2024. We have noticed there is no sailings listed for sale in January’24. December yes ending after New Years and starts selling again in mid February. All out of Port Canaveral. Been that way for awhile. We have not heard anything from Carnival. We are thinking maybe Vista will be taken out of service for whatever reason and probably substituted with another ship. Thought of calling our PVP, but will she tell us?  If she knows anything. What do you guys think?

Different years? 2021 might be cheaper than 2022 or 2023 etc?

No way to know, but I have noticed they seem to be going up.

No…two for this October one for this November. One difference I just noticed was the sailing days. Sun-Thu or Mon-Fri then Fri-Mon. Maybe the ports have different charges on different days?

  3. This is only a guess. Have no idea how Carnival works this way. But, it MAY work like this. Having used to live in Las Vegas playing at the local bars. We would get free play. Let’s say if we have $20 free play, we could not cash out until that twenty is played. (Well you could but the money would still be in the machine). Now, if after that twenty is played and we have a balance we could then cash out if you wanted and get cash.

Could it be because they used to open the Havana section to all guests after 7 pm in the evening, and they don't anymore (according to a 2019 article I read)?  Just a guess...I really have no idea.  We are booked in a Havana Cabana on Mardi Gras in the spring, but have never been in that area on any of the other ships, so I have nothing to compare it to.  My daughter and I both love to read, so when we saw the great little porch area (and of course hanging chair) we were sold.  🙂

After some of the comments I've read here, I was worried I should try to switch cabins.  But I've been looking at the videos, and the whole area looks quiet and not crowded, which is what I was looking for, as spring break can be kind of crazy packed with kids.  We are not swimmers, so the tiny pool doesn't bother us.

But yes, I definitely agree, scaled back is a good way to describe it, compared to the pictures I'm seeing on the Vista class ships.

I agree. We are also booked for Havana room. While the Havana area on other ships does look inviting, we think the scaled back will work in our favor. Of course if we tried Havana on the other ships first we may feel differently. Also, after doing some price comparisons. On some ships the Havana is almost double the cost of a regular cabin. Not so on the Mardi Gras.

  5. Now that we are retired here in Florida we will be cruising fairly often. Regarding last minute cruises, we see a lot of good deals right now. Took advantage of one. Was wondering if that is normal or is it caused by the cruise startup?

  6. Thanks Joe, that’s what we were thinking but just wanted to confirm. Also thanks for welcoming us to cruise critic. Was on here years before under a different name. Stopped cruising for various reasons. Now retired in Florida ready to get back to cruising. Have two already booked for 2022.

  7. Will be on Liberty in January. For wife’s birthday wanted to put in reservation for the steakhouse. Looks we need to prepay with credit card first. Was hoping to reserve and pay with our $500 obc. Is there a way around this now or will we need to make reservations once when we get on board? Also, her birthday is first night of the cruise.
