  1. I read last year he left RCL and was working in England. So he has returned? Loved him as a concierge!

He's back! I already LOVE him! We've already planned out our dinners and shows each night and checked with me on several times to ask if there's anything else I need. He moved our embarkation time up (without me asking) and even sent me a congratulations email when I told him my daughter had just gotten engaged. We are going to have a great time!

  2. I have a star class booked for next April and I randomly check the RCCL site to see what additional information they are posting about this program. What is scaring me is the perks listed on the site are slowing disappearing instead of more details being added.

    http://www.royalcaribbean.com/royalsuiteclass/star/

What i do not see anymore is:

    Laundry Services

Thermal Spa Access - It was unlimited when the star class was first announced, then reduced to 1 day now i do not see it.

Fitness Class - Not listed anymore

    Complimentary Minibar no longer listed

In Suite cocktail service is no longer listed (the 2 hour happy hour thing)

Specialty bottled water (Not a big deal, just another thing they removed)

Maybe this is their attempt to make the amenities more generic across the fleet where each ship does not offer equal services? Ive saved the documents and screen shots of the website going all the way back to last August and it makes me wonder who is running the show at Royal?

I don't know where you got your information from but I'm sailing in star class this month and this was sent to me last week about the amenities currently provided.

  3. We just enjoy the suites more than the regular rooms. We've worked hard to be able to go travel and enjoy life! And we find that the suites suit us perfectly! When we were on Allure 2 years ago, the CL had beer, wine, soda and water available all day. ;) I'll be posting a review of my trip on Oasis in August.

  4. I would go with the 2-bedroom ATS if it does not break the budget. Not only do you get more space but you get all the special benefits associated with Star Class, including the Royal Genie.

This is what sold us on the ATS in August on Oasis of the Seas as there will be 5 adults in the suite. The benefits of Star class take care of pretty much everything your party will need for the week.

  5. Quite frankly, I'm offended by your remarks! At be beginning of our cruising history, we cruised in an inside cabin, then moved up to an ocean view cabin, then to balcony cabins. Finally, we were able to afford a suite; actually we booked a suite for a special anniversary, but we loved it and now find it difficult to NOT cruise in a suite.

We HAVE worked very hard our entire life and have NO guilt over sailing in a suite -- we weren't born into it, we didn't steal it, we earned it! We're not looking to laud our suite benefits over the other cruise mates, but we enjoy them, we paid for them and we will use them!

We don't have a blessed life, we worked for every dang thing we have and now can enjoy what we worked so hard for! For all those non-suite guests who are envious of the suite perks, get busy earning your way toward suites; and if that's impossible, don't begrudge those who do book suites and all the perks that come with them.

I agree completely! You get what you pay for! We will be in star class in August on Oasis and I don't plan on cutting anyone for the flowrider. We worked our way up to suites and have worked hard all our lives to get there. I plan to enjoy my cruise and all the perks and not worry about what anyone else is doing. We'll be celebrating my Daughter's 30th Birthday and that will be my main focus. Cheers, everyone!

  6. We are planning on tipping our Genie $100 per person in the cabin. There will be 5 of us on Oasis in August in the 2 bedroom Aqua Suite. We also give a tip at the beginning of the cruise to our steward. So we will give our Genie a similar amount and go from there. Depending on service, we plan to give above and beyond, as I used to work for tips and realize how important it is to recognize good service.

  7. We enjoyed dinner on the balcony in our OS on Allure and it was beautiful. They asked what time we would like the food delivered and it was set up for us with a white table cloth and flowers (we didn't ask for the tablecloth, it was brought automatically both times). We did this 2 times during the cruise and both nights it was just so wonderful and romantic watching the world go by! Enjoy and have a great honeymoon!
