  1. I've only used Los Cinco Soles for well over 25 years. Back then they did not import to the US so I could only stock up on trips to Cozumel.

Now we buy it for our bakery by the gallon jug!  Los Cinco Soles is still my favorite store in Coz so when we stop I still bring home small bottles for friends and clients.

  2. Sadly, the behavior in the buffet is not new or exclusive to Celebrity nor is this poor behavior limited to cruising!  We have sailed for 25 years and run into this everywhere. As a chef and caterer, I can tell you these things happen all the time.  We have always (way before covid) carried our own sanitizer to use after going through the buffet lines and using s & p shakers, etc.  (even when dining out at home)

For years the cruise lines have done their best to ask guests to use the wash stations, those so arrogant to think they have no germs to spread just past right by. In March of 2022 we were on a cruise on the Edge, the buffet was served by the staff.  Our next cruise in November of '22 the buffet was back to self serve. UGH!

There is always people eating at the buffet, eating while walking around, eating with their fingers in the crowd.  It's amazing how poor peoples manners are.

  3. We are on this cruise as well, staying three nights post cruise in London.

As LHT28 mentioned, we did used Londontoolkit.com to book our transfer with a stop at Stonehenge and Windsor with a drop off at our hotel in London.

I have been making reservations at spots we want to visit since the Kings Coronation is on the 6th (the day we return home) but I figured the crowds would be building through the week.

  4. Hi

Ive traveled many times through the Caribbean and Bermuda via cruises.  We are taking our first transatlantic cruise in April.  Bermuda, Ireland, Dorset and France are our ports.  We are planning to stay three nights, post cruise in London.  Do we need a travel visa?  I've just seen this mentioned on the cruise website to be sure visa and ESTA are current.  I guess I was in too much of a panic to make heads or tails of the requirements.  On the cruise website, it lists what is needed in each port, ie covid test results, passport.  I've never seen anything about a visa.

    Any help will be appreciated.

I stayed 4x at Premier Inn  London Waterloo (Westerminster Bridge) (hotel entrance street level).  Across a small plaza is Premier Inn London County Hall ( hotel entrance is up a couple of steps).  Both hotels have A/C, bar, restaurant, close to London Eye, Westminster Abbey, Thamas river, Big Ben, Parliament, HOHO, regular bus, 2 tube station, Waterloo Train station, pubs, restaurants.

I took Justairports (car service) from hotel to LHR.  Have also used them from LHR to hotel.  Price is per car, use hotel's postal code to get price.

Depending on your dates, Buckingham Palace's royal staterooms may be open to the public.

I have taken International Friends 2x post cruise.  They pick you up at the Southampton dock.  I took the tour with stops at Salisbury Stonehenge and Windsor.  Purchase entrance tickets through them.  They dropped us at the door of our London hotel around 6pm.

Phabric, can you share the name of the London hotel you stayed in?

Tourist England is a booking agency, not a tour operator - the product you mention is operated by International Friends, a long-established & reputable coach tour operator

    https://www.internationalfriends.co.uk/shore-excursions-and-cruise-transfers.html

Far better to book direct with the operator - booking agencies are an extra cog in the system and in most cases their staff don't know any more than what's on their website.

The tour/transfer is only for people on your cruise, it picks you up at your Southampton cruise terminal, visits Salisbury, Stonehenge and Windsor, and drops you at your central London hotel (or for smaller hotels, & guesthouses at the nearest hotel served).

April 1st next year is a saturday, so .............

It's important to buy your Stonehenge & Windsor Castle tickets with your tour/transfer - Stonehenge admission for those who buy at the gate is dependant on numbers and at busy times they may have to wait - tickets bought as part of a coach tour (or on the local ho-ho bus) are guaranteed admission on arrival.  If you want to visit Windsor Castle (instead of just exploring the town) buy your tickets with your tour/transfer to avoid a line at the gate.

The tour operator's prices are broadly in line with prices at the gate.

Thank you for this information.  It is a big help as we are staying three night post cruise somewhere in the London area.  Also, love the quote about the passport photos.  Nothing is truer of mine!

The biggest negative is the time change. (If going eastbound) it’s plus if traveling westbound.

One really cool thing (on eastbound) is seeing the change in weather. On departure in Florida you’ll be given a towel by the pool, later in North Atlantic you’ll be given blankets. At least in April that’s how it goes.

Thanks for the info!  We're going to UK in April; expected the weather to be what you mentioned.

  9. Yes, Old San Juan Food and Walking Tour. It was nice, the host was very pleasant and informative. All the food was delicious. I was only disappointed because the description read "mojito" and we were actually given Pina colada. No biggie but I do love Mojitos!! I think there may have been 8 or 10 in the group.

Thanks for posting.    I just tested positive on the last day of my cruise during a B2B testing.   Even

though I believe to to be a false positive we are being kicked off tomorrow.   The letter we received has NO PHONE NUMBER.    Only Celebrity Engagement Center e-mail address.

I just jotted the number down.

You can also log on to celebritycruises.com, use the chat option and they will give you any others phone numbers needed. Its a lot quicker than going through the phone system. Good luck to you.

On board they said I could choose. We were flying back but I went online and cancelled once we tested positive and then booked the rental car. Delta just gave me a credit for the return flight, no questions. As of now, I have sent all the info I could and a request for my covid results. My travel agent is now also involved in trying to figure out what is needed. It woulda been nice to have some letter or something, even if they said give it "X" number of months, I would know and be ok with that. It's the not having any idea that's hard.

We received several letters whole onboard. We were able to cancel our original flight home and get a credit, no questions asked. But do confirm with your airline as to how long you have to use it!!

  12. Were you on-board when you tested positive or did you cancel prior to boarding because of covid? I may have misunderstood. I thought you tested positive while onboard and were waiting for reimbursement for hotel and transportation costs as a result of not being able to return home as planned. My husband tested positive on day 5 of our 7 day cruise. He and I had to isolate in separate staterooms for two days then had to remain in Florida for an additional 3 days before he was able to fly commercial. X made and covered our new flights home and covered his hotel room for the three nights (I choose to have a separate room as we felt one of us needed to stay as healthy as possible) they also covered our food expenses for those three days as well as transportation to the hotel from the ship. I had sent my receipts via email twice and had not heard anything. Once I got the correct customer service number (that took about an hour!) I was able to speak with a rep who located my emails and worked out the entire reimbursement and refund for the days of the cruise we were in isolation, they asked for a credit card number for the funds to be sent to and it was done within another hour. Still no explanation as to why there had been no communication. I was satisfied with the results. Good luck to you.

  13. I submitted paperwork/receipts for reimbursement on April 1 and again on April 18th, have yet to get any communication from them.  The phone number listed on the letter for Customer Service is not a working number.  My credit card bills are beginning to arrive with the costs of hotel and food while in isolation.

The ships staff were amazing while we were on board and took very good care of us.  I was in love the the ship at first sight and this was our first cruise with Celebrity. But I am beginning to have doubts about them.

Im working on getting ahold of them by phone today. If I can find a correct number.  I feel Im in for long hold times and being passed to many departments.

    Good luck to you.

Anything to report from your stop there?

    Cheers

We did the Walking and Food Tour.  I noticed a few additional excursions added to the website the closer to sail date.  Im guessing that had to do with covid and what was available to be scheduled.  We enjoyed the tour and had a great meal.

  15. We have only ever sailed on Royal though pre pandemic we had decided we would prefer a quieter environment and planned a Celebrity cruise but after one medical emergency and two cancelled due to covid everything was delayed.

This past November we took a last minute 3 or 4 day cruise on Royal as I had some time off and this what fit my schedule.  That was enough to remind us why we sought out Celebrity and would probably be the last time we scheduled for ourselves on Royal! And honestly it's more about the fellow passengers than RCCL, though they do not enforce the rules as they should or use to.

We just got off of our first Celebrity cruise this past Sunday and we LOVE IT!

The ship, the atmosphere, the dining choices, the more mature passengers, no theme park. And they had me at "Sir, I'd like to remind you that shorts are only allowed in the dining room on the first and last nights."  Ha!!

Of course right now with sailing at 50 to 60 % capacity is a huge treat.  Not a crowded spot anywhere and plenty of deck chairs to go around!

It was very refreshing to see manners and etiquette in place and not ONE selfie stick in sight.
