I use an Apple Watch due to me falling a lot and I like to see how active I am. I probably would just use the lanyard because I don’t like anything on my right wrist.
I wouldn’t feel comfortable taking my watch off.- 1

Thank you for this. Just sailed this year on RCL Oasis of the seas and average drink is $12-14.
The martinis here for $10 is a steal and on RCL you couldn’t find a glass of Pinot Grigio for $10.00.

My Neurosurgeon discharged me in 2017 telling me there is nothing more that can be done for me.I had Spine Surgery which did not work.I have had consultations with more than a dozen surgeons to date who told me the same.I went to a Pain Management doctor and between 2017 and 2021 I had 9 epidurals as well as a trial for a pain stimulator implant.Nothing worked. My doctor who I am seeing later today is the Pain Management doctor who told me two years ago that the RFA would not help me.I also had Acupuncture.
All the discs in my back and neck are herniated.I have Spinal Stenosis and Sciatica.
Aside from those issues I also have Parkinson’s,Sleep Apnea,Ulcerative Colitis,Raynauds Syndrome,Venous Insufficiency,Fuchs Dystrophy, frequent real skin cancer ,post traumatic vertigo,Early Dementia,Occular Migraines,Hypertention and a hole in my right retina.Plus frequent Depression from dealing with all of the above.I last crossed a street without help in 2016.I am dependent 100% on my family and along with all of this still struggling from the loss of my two closest friends in 2020.
I can see why you are in so much pain. I hope this Dr appointment gives you some relief. Your in my thoughts.

His was a month ago, last Wednesday. He has a follow up with his doctor today, to review and to schedule the other side. Hoping it gets scheduled soon.
I hope he finds some relief soon, he sounds too young to be dealing with Chronic pain.
I will keep him in my thoughts .

My short term memory is lousy .My long term is great.
I am in constant pain.Later today I am going to a doctor who two years ago told me there is nothing more that he can do for me.He has tried everything in the past to help me.I am basically just going to talk to him to ask his opinion on some things .
Have you seen a Dr in a pain clinic yet? They are board certified Anesthesiologists, who usually can diagnose health issues regular Dr can’t. I wish you good luck

I’m so happy it worked out for you, it was the right thing for them to do for you.
Have a great cruise!!
I am partially disabled and the crew on the Oasis treated me like royalty.
Next cruise for me will be a handicapped room and a electric scooter or wheelchair and my DD to help me.

I wish you the best of luck with the RFA. That is the procedure my son had about a month ago. I am not sure if it is normal for the doctor to only do one side at a time, but that is the way he is doing it.
He does still have some pain, so he is reserving judgement on how effective it is, until they do the other side. He goes in for a review at the end of the month, and the other side will be scheduled in April.
We are all hoping for a good outcome after that is done.
I really hope your son gets some pain relief, I have read it can take a couple of weeks to kick in. I have Read that it’s affective for about 80% of the people. Normally they have relief for about 4 to 6 months but there’s been a few people that had it longer. The Mayo Clinic on line is a great source of reference and my back doctor agrees with me.
I’m hoping the nerve block works because if it doesn’t then my pain is coming from somewhere else.
Because I have Fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis they also can cause back and wide spread pain.
Stay healthy and active everybody

Ok I’m back!! Just thought of something,
My Cabin steward was awesome!!
My cruise was the last one before he signed off but, I would have never known that based on his service.
Every-time he saw me trying to take that walker in and out of the cabin, he would take it and put it in the cabin or take it out for me.
I never asked him too and actually I was telling him he didn’t need to lol.
So last day of the trip I tipped him $40 cash on top of the pre paid tips. I thought that was a fair amount, he shook my hand so hard I thought I was going to fall.
He was more than pleased, he thanked me many times for it.
(Kind of tells me I may have over tipped lol) But when I used to go to Vegas 6 yrs ago or so, you tip everyone.
Makes me wonder if other people give extra tips to their cabin steward.
Its just money and I guarantee he needs it more than me, he lives in the Philippines.
So I’m happy I had the cash to help him, he went out of his way to help me.

I hope it works well for you. My wife Linda has the same issues. She has had the RFA which did give her relief. Now she has another area that got treated yesterday as a nerve block. Is that the same thing as a spinal block? They put her under for it. They said it should take several days to kick in. I hope it works as she has been miserable in pain.
Back pain is the worst, after RFA it can take up to a week to get pain relief. I am so sorry she is going thru this.
I have actually almost totally lost the ability to walk because of my back.
The nerve block is just a injection in my spine (it’s not the RFA) it’s done 2 times.
If this reduces my pain by 50% for 2 weeks, they do it a second time. If I get the same results then they do the RFA.
The RFA is where a needle is guided into my spine, and they burn part of the nerve that carry’s the pain signal from her back to her brain.
Yes based on what I have read some Dr put you completely under, but some do conscious sedation so you can answer their questions during the procedure.
I hope it works out for your wife, will keep her in my thoughts.

Sorry to hear you did not have a good experience. I'll be on the Oasis next month and purchased The Key since it was only two dollars more than the Voom Surf and Stream when it went on sale. I see it's double the price now in my Cruise Planner. I wouldn't buy it at $42 but at $22 it's a good price since it includes Surf n Stream.
$2 is awesome deal. Have fun.

Personally speaking I found the key to be a waste of money,
The key luncheon took almost 2 hours and we were set too close to each other. My filet was so dry, I kind of chocked when eating it.
My server at the key lunch was wonderful and they really tried to make you feel like a vip.
The goodbye breakfast was from 630 to 830am but I was unable to walk down to it.

Did you take advantage of the choice departure?
Yes, key members got luggage tags that’s said key. I was told that I could leave anytime up until 925am and we could sit in the pub if we like.
I left earlier because I wanted wheelchair assistance leaving.

Hello all, in a week the pain Dr is going to give me a spinal block.
If the pain relief lasts over 2 weeks then they will do it again.
if I get good results then they will perform a Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) to temporarily numb some of my pain nerves in my back. It’s only temp though so I may have to have it done again.Hope everything is going well with everyone.

Hi all I’m back. I am feeling much better. In a week I’m going to the pain clinic and they are going to give me a spinal block. If it works then they will perform Radio frequency Ablation (RFA) on me, to temporarily numb some of my bulging discs.
I have taken 2 Covid tests and both are negative.
The filtration system on the ship was really good, I had no allergy issues at all. Also my eyes were not irritated while in doors, so less eyedrops.
I had fun even though I didn’t get to see any shows other then the movie “Respect” which was fantastic. I highly recommend this movie, I realized how much I missed going to the movies.
Tia and I are going to try to watch the whole season of Bridgerton on Netflix. Shout out to Shandra Rhymes for her success with this series. I always try to support POC in the entertainment field.
I was just posting to close out this report but I will be lurking and giving my .02 cents. You all Can’t get rid of me that easily.

We were also frustrated about the Solarium Bistro being closed all week. We wanted to try it for one dinner. We also often liked using it on past cruises for breakfast on the mornings we went to the Solarium. We tried Windjammer once for breakfast - it was a zoo. We didn't go back. We did the MDR for breakfast two mornings - that was nice - but when we wanted something quicker and/or earlier, we either went to Park Cafe or got room service.
Had windjammer for lunch- I only liked the mashed potatoes, salad and the pretzel rolls. The few other things I tried was gross.
I left hungry.

Friday Day 6
Hello all, Thank You for reading my live . Due to the fact I’m really tired this will be my last post.Had cereal and danishes and coffee in my room for breakfast.
Packed all the items I don’t need for my final days ,
Decided to take a nap and that felt great.
I went to Playmakers and had a Blue Moon and their onion rings
I liked their onion rings, really good.
For dinner I went back to PortSide BBQ. I had the non lean brisket and corn 🌽. It’s so good and all their staff treats me like a Queen. I don’t have to stand at the counter to order, they actually come to the table and take my order .
Funny I’m kind of homesick, miss my Purple Hybrid mattress, my recliner chair and my DD.
So to wrap my report up, if you have mobility issues I definitely recommend the Oasis of the seas.
Now if you have a compromised immune system like myself, I can not recommend RCI due to the fact they do not enforce masks wearing on the unvaccinated.Thank you all for your kind words and I hope everyone enjoys their upcoming cruises.
I will lurk around and post in the future when time permits.

Hello first time on this board. Where do you eat breakfast and lunch on the Seashore? Does it matter if it is a sea day or not?
Is any of the specialty dinning open for lunch when at port or at sea?
thank you
