  1. We did end up going to the 555 Steakhouse.  The steaks were perfect.  We did the wine pairing for $20 extra. It was equivalent to 2 full glasses of wine.  Was that worth it?  Yes, sort of. The wines were decent.
‘we were very disappointed in the cheesecake, so much so, we did not finish it.  Cheesecake should have a creamy texture. This had a dense, cake-like texture. It was over cooked.
I don’t think I would do this again.

  2. We booked our excursions through Expedia.  I've written a review of my experience on the Jeep tour twice, and it has not been posted to their site. (hmm.)

To start, the seatbelt on the passenger side did not work.

We drove the jeep out of the parking lot, hit the brakes and the pedal went to the floor.  I pumped, pumped and pulled the parking brake to get it to stop.  Thankfully, I was able to do it without hitting anyone (and we were in traffic.)

They took about 30 minutes to get me another jeep.  (We lost this time on our tour with no compensation.)

The first and second jeep had over 130K miles.  The second jeep had the ABS light on, the traction control light on, the check engine light on.  Oh well... we drove and had no problems from there.

After the sinkhole tour, you go to the tequila tasting room where you get about 7 shots of hard liquor and liqueur.  It's equal to about 2-3 full drinks.  I didn't feel it too much, but the lady in the jeep in front of me said she didn't feel sober enough to drive... but she did anyway.

So... old jeeps... unsafe equipment (brake failure and seatbelt), unsafe tour plan (tequila tasting and then driving) and they censor negative reviews.

That said... the tour itself was pretty decent.  Safety is my concern.

  3. When booking online, instead of choosing a specific room, I chose to let Carnival place us in a room.  Was that a wise choice?  (It was the least expensive.)  There are 4 of us (adults) in the room, so I thought they might put us in a room that works best for that.

Also, it looks like I can check in early.  Do I stand a chance of getting a better room if I check in early online?

    Thank you

  4. We will be taking a Carnival Vista cruise.  I read or heard it on a Youtube that we can pre-order water bottles to have in our room for a fraction of the ship cost.  How do I do this?

Also, they said there is a limit on the drinks that you can bring on board with you.  Are we allowed to bring a 12 pack of beer?
