  1. Just a gripe.... I don't understand how they recommend to get a Scarlett-Concierge test when it says when you sign up it takes 1-3 days for results after sample reaches their lab, but you have to test within 2 days of boarding.  Sounds like you're pushing it using something THEY recommend?

(i.e. https://www.emed.com/) or BioReference-Scarlett Concierge testing service (BioReference sends a qualified medical professional to you to conduct your test), within two days prior to boarding for cruises originating in a U.S

  2. I called them about the added tips and at this point I have a invoice that still shows payment for the tips due.  So to be clear I have paid the full amount now including the tips but my invoice does not reflect the full payment.  They said the system when they entered in the tips paid scheduled it for a refund for me so now it shows the tips due once again and I may have to pay for my tips a SECOND time while I wait on my refund which may take who knows how long?

  3. I would say this is the worst customer service company I have ever dealt with.  I have called several times with multi hour holds and had to hang up.  One time the hold was a hour and a half and the system hung up automatically.  Called yesterday to resolve them still having my tips charged to my account and got thru after 45 minutes to be put on hold a hour while they got a supervisor only to find out they couldn't figure out how to resolve my account billing even with a supervisor even though they say I don't owe it.  I mean for a company that should be bankrupt by now you would think they would try to keep the few customers they do have sailing????  My account was hit with a balance due charge after I had paid my final payment.  So after I pay the cruise in full past the 100% penalty time where I can't get my money back I get a invoice showing I owe more money.  In summary I paid in full for a retreat room, then had to call in to pay for all retreat amenities because those didn't come with my room then I get a invoice for the tips.

When you go into your account online under Manage Reservation and then Reservation Details what does it show when you click on Gratuities?  I have to believe this is a mistake on IT's part that you owe gratuities as this is all included in your Retreat perks that you paid for earlier in the week.  Unfortunately, I think you are going to have to call for your own piece of mind.

It had the amount of gratuities listed with a link to "pay now".  When you click and check the box 'no thanks' it says to approve updated cruise fare and raises the price of the whole cruise by some $2000 as it takes off the promotions..

I agree with you when you choose a "Simply Sail" or "Guarantee" cabin.  However, with this promotion, nothing says that simply adding in your CC number results in a "Simply Sail" cabin.  Nothing says "Simply Sail" until after you've paid your deposit.  There is no point where choose between "Always Included" and "Simply Sail."  It just happens silently.

Exactly what happened to us and we booked within the 100% penalty time so we paid for a trip at a certain price only to learn afterward it did not include the perks we had been promised and then were stuck unless we want to cancel and get a FCC.  We booked a normal Retreat Sky Suite (Not simply sail or cruise only) only to have it change when we input our Captains Club number and we thought it was just a promotion to help us.  So our only way to get perks back was to call and after numerous hours and days now pay another $706 AFTER booking then also now to find out my tips are not showing included either at another $266 it is showing I owe.

It is obvious when you do, as they are listed on the last "lock it in" page.  However, it is not obvious when you don't have those perks unless you've affirmatively chosen a "cruise only" or "simply sail" fare.

Again, the marketing throughout the booking process, including the page where the fare is quoted, shows over and over that suites have always have all these perks.  Frankly, even if you're paying attention, why wouldn't one then believe that they would be there unless one had affirmatively chosen a "cruise only" or "simply sail" fare?  Everything says it is.

If you look at a menu that says "all hamburgers come with fries," would you think you need to ask your server if the hamburger you just ordered came with fries?  If you presented a coupon for $2 off your hamburger and that coupon said nothing more than "$2 off," would you be unpleasantly surprised when your burger showed up without fries?  Would you be a bit ticked off when your server told you that the coupon price didn't include fries but that you could add them back for a buck?

Except in my experience it is you can add fries back for $2

  7. I still can't get the gratuities to show as paid on my account where this happened to.  Under "Already Booked"--->"View Vacation"--->Manage your vacation tab----->reservation details it still shows "Add Gratuities" and has a place for me to pay even when I paid extra for the "Retreat NRD" upgrade.  A call to Celebrity still can't get it fixed.  This is the worst service I have ever had with a cruise company EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

You definitely need to read the fine print before you book X.

There is no fine print when you book about it that I could see.  Celebrity really got me.  I still see it wants me to pay my gratuities, etc on the manage my trip.  After that the loyalty discount will cost more than the standard online fare.  What a joke.  First time sailing with Celebrity and I'm already so upset it's crazy.

  9. I paid for the upgrade for perks at some $706 and have the question that my Xpress pass on the app says "Suite Class".  I booked a retreat room.    Is that going to be a problem with check in to the retreat lounge?  Also my booking still shows adding tips but one poster said that might go away tomorrow.  This is a cray BAD deal.

  10. As I put in another post I booked a retreat room that ended up with ZERO perks. I had to end up calling and paying basically the standard rate for the package.  I find that deceptive no matter how you put it based on the following terms on their website:

    https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/staterooms/suite-class

    "Terms & Conditions

All guests who book The Retreat on or after November 17, 2020 will receive the Indulge Package at no additional charge. The Indulge Package provides a Premium Beverage Package, an Unlimited Stream Internet Package, Gratuities Included, and an OBC for all guests in the stateroom. OBC amount varies by length of sailing: $200 per person for 1-5 night sailings, $300 per person for 6-9 night sailings and a value of $400 per person for 10 night or longer sailings. OBC has no cash value, is applicable to cruise only, non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, and will expire if not used by 10:00 PM on the final night of the cruise. Prepaid gratuities provide gratuities for your Personal Retreat Host, headwaiter, waiter, and assistant waiter in the amount suggested by Celebrity’s guidelines."

why dont you cancel your online booking and call and book through a rep.

Well I would have to get a FCC and figure out how to deal with that and apply to new cruise as I'm within the 100% cancel penalty time.  Is that really worth the risk?  On hold now again over an hour so far.........
