  1. We were on a cruise departing Ft Lauderdale on October 24th.  This ship just came from Europe so there were extra port inspections required of Princess.  We paid the $10.00 and had no wait to check in.  There had to be hundreds of people who did not have their medallion.  Is it worth $10.00 for the possibility of a delay you might have?  Yes it is.  I would always pay the money.

@Luv2CtheMouse9 we always book Plus and lately we've been trying Premier...but we also pre-order the water package. It's really convenient to have 12 bottles of water just waiting for you in your cabin when you arrive. It's the best $7.08 bargain to be had on board! Just remember to pop several into the fridge right away so they can be cooling.

There is no reason to preorder water when you have the Plus Package. We are currently on the Regal Princess and all we do is order as many bottles of water we need and they bring them to your stateroom. Why waste the money when it’s simple to have them delivered any time you want.

  3. For those of you who like to present a baggie of gifts to your cabin steward along with cash, stop doing that.  Give them extra cash instead.  Most of these workers are there to make money to send back home to family. They really do prefer cash and not miscellaneous gifts which they probably already have and the limited space to keep your gifts.  They, of course, will smile and say thank you but like I just said they prefer the extra cash to send home to help support their families.  It is a nice gesture and thoughtful, but it makes you feel good instead.

  4. My wife and I will continue to pay the suggested tips along with extra tips for good dining room servers and assistants along with our room steward.  We even tipped a casino worker since she was always so nice during our last cruise.  We appreciate their hard work.  I feel that some people just don't like to tip but this is part of cruising.  Some people are probably just cheap.

  5. This happened to me a few months ago.  I just went online and made my own booking.  I then called the main number and spoke with another representative to take my deposit.  I made sure that I told the rep that I wanted MY CVP to get credit for this booking.  I then sent an email to my CVP to let her know that I booked a cruise.  She got full credit for this booking.  It sounds like the one person did not stress the importance of giving the credit to their CVP.  I always work with Princess when booking a cruise and never had any problems in the past.  My CVP works hard and deserves some vacation time off and I am sure travel agents do the same.  lt's weird to read that is why one person only deals with a travel agent.  That makes no sense.

  6. Has anyone been on the Regal Princess or other Princess ships during Halloween?  We will be on the Regal this Halloween and just wondering if Princess decorates or does anything special?  Do many guests actually dress up in costumes?  Does anyone decorate their cabin door?

  7. I find it hard to believe that the cost of the insurance won't increase if you purchase the Plus Package on board.  Your insurance covers many items that doesn't go away once your board the ship.  You could become ill on board and require an emergency evacuation and your insurance will cover the cost, up to your maximum benefit.  Has anyone actually purchased the Plus Package on board and can verify there was no increase in the insurance amount?  Does anyone know if we can use gift cards to purchase the Plus Package before arriving on board?

  8. I went on a 7-day Mexican Riveria cruise this past March 12th.  I could have had a balcony for $297 each.  I chose the mini suite for $414 each instead.  I couldn't believe my eyes, so I tried to book it.  It took me 5 times before it finally let me pay for it.  We also received a $100 OBC each for this cruise which brought our cost to $314.  In addition, we each had a $50 FCC to use.  I had a veteran OBC of $100 and my wife a $100 OBC credit for being a stockholder.  This pricing was for the Forward Section of the ship.  However, we luckily ended up with a Mid-Section cabin instead.  You just never know.  If similar pricing comes up again, just be persistent and maybe you will get a good deal.  Good luck.

  9. The site I posted earlier works for me where the one that’s in the Princess site did not work. When the blogger tried the one on the website it didn’t work either. I don’t know why but I’m glad the link I provided worked for me. I’ve been trying to make a reservation using the website and using my iPhone for months and it never worked. Plus the link used my dinner credits that was included in my cruise fair. Good luck everyone.

  10. I was watching a blog on YouTube regarding this topic and they provided a direct link to a Princess login.  I was able to sign in and make reservations at the Crown Grill using my free gift which was included when I purchased my cruise.  My cruise leaves October 8th and I had no problem.  I kept trying using my cell phone and could never reserve a specialty dining. I hope that this works for everyone.
