Homework? What homework? We knew nothing about cruise ships and the art of selecting the right cabin on our first cruise. We were happy to be able to get on the ship.

 

Better cabin...honeymoon?? We never had a honeymoon until the following April. It was married and then get back to university. Our tax refund paid for our first trip in late April. Believe it or not...an all inclusive to Bahamas for one week @$219. per person. It was all we could afford in terms of money and time since we had lucrative summer employment lined up. Lots of married couples start out this way.

 

Just not sure why posters are so quick to criticize these folks over their choice of cabins or how much they spent to get on the ship. Just think back to those years when you may have been commencing your married life with not much in terms of assets/income but with a lot of anticipation of a whole future ahead of you.

I have been through the whole chip and pin and chip and signature card discussion with AmEx. I have an USAA chip and pin card. Just curious, what about debit cards (ATM cards) do they also require a chip in Europe?

Have been on both although the last time on Pride was two years ago. Our experience with Chops and the Steakhouse is that the Steakhouse was a cut above Chops last month on Grandeur. We also did Chef's Table on both and found them both worth the money but somewhat different in their approach. Would do both again.

I notice on the bottom of the menu pictured above the 15% is on beverages. It doesn't say on everything.

I know Carnival often gets knocked on this board. However, last December while on Carnival Pride my wife suffered a serious medical condition. Not only did customer service arrange to get us off the ship as soon as it was cleared, but arranged for our luggage to be picked up at the room and had it taken off the ship with us. They also provided a personal escort all the way through customs and to the parking lot along with our luggage. I was absolutely amazed at how well they handled the situation. After a week at Johns Hopkins DW was able to go home and is now doing great.

We are on the Pride sailing on 1 December. I e-mailed the Steakhouse last week and received a confirmation e-mail within three hours. I would suggest you e-mail them and see what they say. Good luck!:)
