I don't have a drink package,  two different people say I have to pay the room service charge even ordering from the app.

If you do the order as an OceanNow request, you just need to pay the one-time fee, though if it is a drink and you do not have the package, you do pay for the drink. If you order room service specifically, then it is the $5 charge and the extra for any drink like beer, wine, soda, etc.

OceanNow will deliver to you wherever you are on the ship, but room service is just for your room. It is a bit odd to have the room service charge if the same order can be done with OceanNow

If I activate for $15 I can order from the app but still pay delivery charge. If I order by phone I only pay the $5 so why should I activate? No room service for me, they should add this back as an Elite benefit

The delivery charge is a room service charge. You can use the app and not do it as room service and it will not add that $5 fee

So question, last year we got lucky on a Haven bid and splurged on the drink upgrade to go with it. We're considering booking on Dec 4th cruise coming up, but with everyone cruising again and the recent covid changes I'd imagine our odds of a Haven jump are minimal.

Do you think this package is worth it on the rest of the ship when you don't have access to the haven bar? Not sure how many other bars stock these upscale items or what kind of drinks they can make with their supplies.

Not sure if we'd get enough value to justify it. She can probably drink enough Veuve if it's available, and upper tier wines. lol

I would assume at least one or two should havethe upscale items. Maybe either the bar by the MDRs or the Alist bar (the one by the steakhouse.)

I would say yes.  Panorama tends to dock later than most but we were off in June early enough to catch that flight time.

Good to know. I'll have to Fly out of LAX after a cruise in February and I was a bit worried 2:30PM might be a problem for getting a flight home.

Last week on the Seashore cabins werent ready until about 2:30. Announcements were periodically made asking to be patient. We also didn't get our luggage until after 9pm. We kept going to check and kept being told they are still delivering.

That is good to know. I'll be on that ship next month, I might need to bring something to change into for dinner.

I’m solo on the NCL Prima out of Miami Dec 3 this year. And also booked on her sister, the Viva out of PR over New Year’s next year. I’m excited to be on the brand new ships. One of my favorite cruises ever was solo for New Year. The party atmosphere was over the top, and I met amazing people. The Prima will be my first cruise since Covid. It’s been too long !!

I would love to do a cruise on a new ship at least one of the first sailings.

I would suggest you book a full transit cruise on a ship that goes through the original locks.  The new large ships go through the new locks and, while interesting, the old locks are better.

I have been looking into a PC cruise for early 2023, but going solo the historic locks are expensive more so then the new locks.

That on MSC's terminology is set to be a "coffee delight" drink, so, sadly, not a regular one. Some bartenders might to serve you such a "sort of" drink with what they've available to work with, but generally those drinks are only offered, either way on places like Brooklyn Cafe on Seashore (included only on Premium Extra package and the non alcoholic one) or outside of any package on the 3rd party coffee and chocolate vendor spot. In some ships they serve those drinks both at the MDR or the buffet during breakfast time, but that is a ship by ship, perhaps sailing by saiiing sort of thing.

That is crazy. So I can get a latte on my drink package, but getting some chocolate in it for a mocha makes it different enough it will only be covered on the highest plan? MSC is crazy.
