  1. Just seeing on the news wire that Royal Caribbean has cancelled the following cruises as of today:

    • Jewel of the Seas - Sailings from January 9th to February 12th (next sailing would be February 20th)
    • Serenade of the Seas - Sailings from January 8th to March 5th (next sailing would be April 26th due to dry-dock period)
    • Symphony of the Seas - Sailing form January 8th to January 22nd (next sailing would be January 29th)
    • Vision of the Seas - Delayed next sailing until March 7th

Sorry to break the bad news to anyone who was booked, but wanted to give the heads up so you could get online or on the phone to rebook or get a refund.

    -Stay safe everyone!

Onboard now and my advice is to cancel and wait for a better time. We had our 2nd rendezvous with Rhapsody this evening to dump off positive crew members... Cruising is just an absolute mess right now.. and dealing with Puerto Rico flights, ever-changing protocols in and out of San juan, etc just makes it that much more stressful..

@zpdw484 we are scheduled to be on Explorer on 1/16 and I am following your comments closely to see what your take is being onboard now. I know that the cruise lines went through a rough spell with the Christmas and New Year's cruises, my thought was maybe the two weeks after would allow for recovery. We're going to make a call next week on whether we cancel our trip, but are still holding out hope.

  3. @Bfsroyal let me just say, for anyone who is following this or just checking random posts, your humility and calm through all of this is absolutely wonderful. While countless other folks in the same situation would be yelling at everyone from the RCCL reps to the hotel staff, you are making the most of a tough situation and keeping current and future Cruise Critic members up-to-speed on the whole thing. Maybe it is just that British mentality of "always look on the bright side of life," but you are a gem and I wish you and your partner well and a quick return home.

  4. This has probably been the most helpful post I have seen about Explorer of the Seas and how the new PR testing requirements have impacts. We are due to go out on Explorer on Jan 16th, but are really wondering if it is worth the risk of testing positive and getting stuck some where. Appreciate all the continued updates at see @zpdw484!
