  1. Hi everyone! Not sure if I should tag my question on to this or add a new "topic".  We're cruising mid May.  I see listed for our cruise the opposite of what was stated above.  2 listings for "beach bed".  One specifically says "Chill Island" and the other when I click on it for specifics says "Chill Island".  Anyone know what's up with the South Beach beach beds?  From my reading it would be the preferred spot.  Thx in advance for any help!

  2. OP, we are on the Oasis with you and my kids are 17 and 14. So I read your question with great interest. I've been trying to decide between Mr. Sancho's

and Nachi Cocum, but I didn't know about Paradise Beach. Since I'm more of a pool person than a beach person, and our kids are similar ages, sounds like this may be a better option for us. Thanks for your post!

    Hi Linda!

I think this is the best economical option for the teens and adults alike!

I had to go through my posts from 6 years ago, because I believe we have been there before. However the pictures looked very different. I don't recall a pool then. Anyways, my kids are super excited! As are we! I'm gonna try to drag them out of bed and get there early. They can sleep on the beach! :)

Hope to meet you on the cruise!

We were just there last week and was very impressed. Not crowded at all. Nice amount of chairs in the shade as well as the sun. I believe it was $15 dollars if you wanted to use the inflatables or just a $3 charge for the beach. They did ask that you spend a minimum of $10 on food or drinks which of course we did but I'm not sure how they track that. They were running mixed drink specials for $5.95 a piece and the fish tacos were amazing. We ran a tab for the day. Very friendly and very clean beach. There's also more activities down the beach that you can pay for...parasailing and jet skis are the two I remember. Will definitely go back in January when we get back to Cozumel. Pool was beautiful also.

Thank you for the reassurance! We're looking forward to this port day!

  3. I feel incredibly redundant writing this post, because I'm sure the answers are SOMEWHERE buried on this site.

There are 2 ships in port, I believe, on Aug. 6th. How crowded do you think Paradise Beach may get? (our ship is the massive Oasis)

At PB, will they run a tab for you throughout the day or do you have to pay separately each time you order something?

After countless hours on CC trying to decide between Playa Mia, Mr. Sanchos and Paradise Beach we've decided on PB. My kids are 17 and 15. My son initially liked the water slides at Playa Mia but then was concerned there would be too many little kids there with their water park. True? Then we liked the idea of the AI at Mr. Sanchos. Want to know what the deciding factor is? Stand up Paddle Boarding. (correct me if I'm wrong) but Paradise Beach was the only one that lists SUP as included in their $15 Fun Pass. Also, when I took a look at the menu, and added up what we could possible eat and drink in a day, I think we could spend less than what we would at Mr. Sanchos for the AI. Plus the pool looks nicer than the PAYGO Sanchos side.

    Thoughts?

  4. yes! love the 4 bottles since we have 2 rooms! someone wisely suggested making 1 or 2 of those bottles sangria (or i like a cold arbor mist in the summer). 2 bottles of red for dinners and 2 bottles of girly wine for daytime! I'm set! If we get a bucket of beer, do they open all the bottles? Anyone know how much they are going for these days?

Regarding starbucks, if I load my card/app before we leave, does it need wifi to use for payment? We are going to forgo the connectivity while on the ship.

Do you need reservations for lunch at the specialty restaurants? I know a few of them are open then and the cost is lower than dinner.

  5. Royal Replenish it is for all 4 then! Does anyone know if the starbucks drinks are included in this? Thx!

Sdteacher.... Yes! same cruise. I added our name to the roll call. I tried to add both myself and my husband to the meet&mingle but, it says I'm unable to view my husbands reservation at this time. Our travel agent booked our 2 cabins, linked the 2 reservation numbers, but because of the ages of the kids (17 & 15), we have 1 adult and 1 kid in each room. Frustrated now because I can't view the second reservation to begin the online check in or make dining/show reservations for all of us! If that doesn't make sense, sorry. I've been on these boards all day!!!

Despite all of that, we are all looking forward to this cruise!!!

  6. Thanks everyone! Shows are booked as are a few MTD times.

Now to decide about beverage package...

My two teens (17 and 15) enjoy soda on vacation; love the virgin coladas/daquiris; and are now coffee drinkers. would the royal replenish make sense for them? I'm thinking that may be the way to go for all of us and then if my husband wants to have a couple drinks/beers each day, we'll pay ala carte.

If we have 2 cabins, can we bring 4 bottles of wine? And I'm reading on here that you can "check" cases of water like luggage?

  7. you won't do it all in a week, deep breath and accept that. research here to be informed, but not to obsession. Read reviews. Pack lighter, breathe deeper and yes, put the camera away a bit and live the experience.

Don't stress, it will be too much to do and you'll miss "important stuff", you are still breathing, return and re-book;)

book all shows and dinners as early as possible, but be flexible... want to take a break and hide in your room with room service, DO IT.

Sometimes, we are fighting so hard to have a great time, we are too tired to do so...

    don't do that:D

    love this advice! thank you!

  8. Hello Cruise Experts!

    I need a little guidance.

We (2 adults and 1 DD 17, 1 DS 15) just booked the Oasis for 1 August 2015 sailing. We've sailed RCCL several years ago, but never on this massive of a ship!

I am a bit overwhelmed as to where to begin with reservations.

This late in the game, we are able to only get MyTime Dining.

I do have a thousand questions, but I plan on scouring these boards over the next few weeks. It's going to be my full time job!

What I'm asking all of you kind advice givers is to point me in the right direction as to what I should reserve first and any other initial tips you can give me.

    Thank you!!
