  1. Thank you, everyone.

My girl wants to check out the "Straw Market" (God help us!) and the bars probably dont open until 11am.

So we will make the perilous trek through the hyper-aggressive vendors for a few hours and then go calm our nerves with a cold adult beverage.

Looks like the majority of my birthday will be celebrated on the ship. In one form or another.

  2. Hi

I'm going to Nassau on the Valor in September. I've never been there before and will be travelling with a few friends. Nassau is our first stop, but we are only there from 8:30am to 2pm, a pretty short time.

But, it will be my birthday that day and I would like to do something close to the port, since we wont have much time.

Is there a beach bar within reasonable distance of the dock?

    Thanks!

  3. Radisson Resort at the Port was fine 2 years ago when I was there. Its 45 minutes from the Orlando airport.

Free parking, shuttle, even a drunk-bus to take you out to the restraunts the night before. All free. They have a nice pool, with a grotto/lazy-river kind of setting. Theres an outdoor bar and a cozy lounge inside as well.

The rooms have beds with the adjustable dial-mattresses.

It was $100 for the night.

  4. As has been mentioned several times, tommorrow is promised to no one.

I'm 40 yrs. old. I'm not getting any younger. I'm single, with no children. I work 40 hours a week at a blue-collar job. I didnt get to go many places when I was younger. Up until last year the only place outside of the U.S. I had been was Canada.

I live in Cleveland. Its cold here. Often. Its snowing right now as a matter of fact! 6 months of this crap makes you wanna jump out of a window.

Theres a whole big world out there.

Someone said to me, "Why do you go on cruises? You're not rich?" "You're right. And I probably never will be either. Thats why I go."

Theres a commercial that plays on the radio here that repeats the question, "What are you waiting for?" That pretty much summed it up for me.

I leave on the Empress in 12 days for my second cruise.

  5. Wow. I cant believe they actually run out of those. Yeah, I know, the ship's only so big. You'd think they would take into account that people order more servings of those, and to make SURE that they have enough for everyone. I have to admit, I'd be a little bummed if it happened to me. But, I'd live.
