  1. We have been there twice.

First Mid July. Wore Long underwear, under the Polartec , under the Goretex. Along with Gloves Hat and scarf. Yes Cold and wet. Yet they kept telling us the week before was 80 degrees and sunny. Lots of people,

The Second time we went early April. Trans-Pacific cruise. I was a balmy 60-70. Mostly Sunny. Zip crowds.

Reality is Alaska is a fickle lady.

Crowds will be there during the summer months.

If it's Holland, I got the same email. I live in Boston - there is always traffic and construction, it's nothing new (and provided there are no actual tunnel closures like last summer) it shouldn't be an issue. If there are taxis waiting, that is an easy option. If there aren't, I've never had an issue getting a Lyft or an Uber anywhere in Boston (I usually check both, as the price and the wait times vary between the two).

We get in to Boston Saturday Aug 24. Currently Mass DOT shows the tunnel closed that weekend. Is taking I90 to the airport not an option? Was going to grab an Uber to the airport after. Now not so sure. Flight is 2 pm.

  3. If the cruise news I heard last week is true, see below, then Sydney is Number one for charging fees to dock. In the world. I do not have the exact details the person used for this list. Any and all additional information covering this list is appreciated. Reality is the cost model may be a bit steep.

  4. Question: Can I take a card and put it on our account prior to boarding as OBC?

We have already fully paid for the trip. Tours & Crew Appreciation. Use it for Spa and or drinks. Would like to use it so if we can add it now I think would be easiest. Yes? No? Thanks in advance.

  5. I wonder will my travel insurance cover the Rebooked Flights? How about the extra meals due to not being on the ship? That night at a hotel you didn't consider? That adds up quick and will negate the cruise line's extra benefits. I'm understand mistakes for sure. In this day and age I do wonder how the IT team cannot consider the number of cabins sold v the number of cabins on-board. Just sayin. Happy Friday all.

I fully agree.  Why not discuss their bad decision to take a private excursion, why not say anything about the tour operator, why not talk about all the people who helped them from Sao Tome to Gambia to Senegal.

My inlaws just did a two week transatlantic repositioning cruise on  Viking and they said the average age of passengers was above 80.  So mostly retirees who don't work.  But this Dawn cruise is three weeks long.  There's at least one pregnant lady on this cruise.  Must be nice to be able to take three weeks off or not have to work at all in order to be able to go on this cruise.  If I went on this cruise, that would exhaust all of my vacation days for the entire year.  These people, especially the lead couple, must be very privileged indeed.

    What of their social position?

  7. Dear NCL management. Why does O not have an APP?  Maybe you have a reason? I am all ears. Promise I listen, and sometimes agree. I will move on no matter what is stated. I always remember this wise thought given to me years ago. My opinion and 6 bucks gets me a Latte at the S. 🙂. Happy Labour Day folks.

If you can do so without rolling your eyes, could you explain to those of us who are not digital natives why an app is important?  What would you want to do with it that cannot be done otherwise?  Inquiring minds want to know ☺️

HI,, I get it, We always look at the "patter". OK first cruise 500 years ago was P and that name. In no order.

If your paper folks,, WAY cool.  The app is just another tool to utilize.

    1. We can order drinks and or food from it.

    2. At a glance we can review what is happening, both of us even from different locations.

    3. We can book excursions from the pool deck.

    4. Check our balance from that same pol deck.

    5. Find that bar we always wanted to go to but could not find (toooo drunk 🙂 ).

    6. View Itenary.

7 Text your fellow family and friends who are onboard with you.

What I am agreeing with is old fashioned paper doc is good to have. Yes we enjoy reading it at night before bed. Paper doc is a nice planning tool.

We utilize that APP during the day. FYI,, We take our phones with us 99.99% of the time. Our focus with the phone is for taking pictures of our trip. After we return they are uploaded for our viewing enjoyment.

Have a blessed Labour day weekend. Remember why we celebrate.

  9. Larger ships have their place. We have done all shapes and sizes. With family the uber ships have their place. While traveling with friends we do smaller. Think Connie size and smaller. We do enjoy V Ocean size ships. Less than 1k is nice. We get to know the crew as well as the passengers.

With that said, we are looking forward to O and an even smaller passenger base.

    Yes?

I use cruises to get away from apps. Your comment above about grandchildren makes no sense for O. Currently designed as primarily for adults.

OMG, Peace,, You need not have, that is fine. An APP for O does not make it a cruise for teenagers. 🙂
