  1. @clarea My husband really enjoys your posts. He doesn't like public posts lol but wanted to know if he could message you privately on FB (well it would be me b/c he doesn't do FB either lol) or get your email. He loves reading all the great info here!

Looking for info on the pollution issue at Great Bay, Grand Cayman. How bad is it, are the reports true?

  2. August is much slower than March. Chairs are approximately $7. Google Magens Bay Boutique and see if prices are posted online.

So I'm seeing the cab fare from the pier to Magen's Bay is around $8/PP, but how long does it take? How much is it to rent chairs and umbrellas? I did look up the Boutique online but am not seeing those rates listed. Thanks!

  3. I think if a large group is going to be onboard, it's fair to notify the rest of the passengers. We have never had a real problem, but a couple of times we had HUGE groups of Quincenera girls, and one large group in particular was NEVER supervised by their supposed leaders. They were loud, played on the elevators, were rude (pushing through crowded areas, etc.), took over one area after another...Guest Services was made aware that there was an issue and I think they tried to address it. It would be awful to pay all that money for your cruise, perhaps your only vacation for the year, and to have it ruined by a group taking over the ship. I don't have a problem with it as a whole--but if I were refused entry to certain areas all week and especially if I were unable to attend shows, I would throw a fit.

When should Celebrity or any cruise company disclose large groups who have made arrangements with a Travel Agency for a specific cruise?

Should it be when the group is 20% of the cruise, 30% of the passengers, etc.

Should they only disclose certain groups or all large groups?

Personally I would want to know if a third of the ship is filled with accountants, doll collectors, swingers, Packers fans, or ministers.

    Any thoughts ?

  4. I think you are absolutely correct. We were definitely too early. We always get a very early start because I'm always fearful that something will happen on the drive to delay us.

Congrats on your engagement! Very exciting that it was on a cruise.

Glad to hear you had a great time. We enjoyed Francis in the DL as well. Very neat that he arranged for a cake to be delivered to the lounge for your son's 21st. I'll have to remember that for my son's 21st next year! Although it won't be until about a month after our cruise.

We also had to wait to get into the port, we got there around 9:40. I know it's earlier than the stated arrival time, but we've always gotten to our ports around this time and have never had to wait to get in until Baltimore. We also felt the process of getting bags unloaded and parked took longer than it needed to. But it's so nice to be able to drive to the port!

  5. At about 49 days before your cruise, Royal's website will have a button on the online check-in page called "Print Luggage Tags".

Actually, RCCL does not offer printed luggage tags any more, except maybe to D+ or suite guests. We just sailed on Grandeur in July and had to print them ourselves, cut them, and attach to our bags. Gone are the days of receiving the printed tags from the cruiseline. I'm sure this saves them money.

  6. Great list...not sure what you would do with the lanyard or torch...welding? soldering? TSA even takes lighters away. The hand gel is Purel or similar; everyplace including Dollar Tree has bottles of various sizes...it's the stuff that Holland American has Everywhere!

I add a mesh hamper (folds flat about 1' square, but pops out to abour 2 1/2" tall by 1 foot square)...since it's mesh, it can be put in the corner of the cabin and laundry that's well aired doesn't smell like it would in the closet. On another thread someone suggested a hanging shoe bag for the bathroom door...I'm packing it for our 30 day HAL cruise to Hawaii and the Marguesas...I'm even making labels for some of the stuff I know will go in it that I want handy but not man-handled by the crew or out on the sink.

The torch--I have no clue, LOL...but the lanyard is good if you want to carry your room key/Seapass card around w/you...

  7. I'm also interested in this one~maybe bumping this back to the top of the pile will generate an answer or two;)

Still looking for reviews/info on this--anyone been there? Thanks!
