Did you see the Super Bowl last night?
The "science" conveniently changed just before the Super Bowl. Too many celebs attending and they can't be expected to follow any of the draconian rules....perfect example was when the Cal Governor attended the NFC Championship game in the same stadium 2 weeks prior (completely maskless) #hipocrate

I recently (within the past two weeks) purchased one from eBay. If you go this route, please note that the seller called the day after I purchased to get the transfer. It took 2 weeks before it got to my Latitudes account page. The number of transfer requests far outnumber the staff they have to do the transfers

I am hopeful that the actual enforcement of the sip/cover will lax
Agreed. Sip/cover has got to be the most ridiculous protocol. So you can be mask-free at the MDR for an hour or two, but as soon as you stand up...Hey, put that face diaper on. Beyond silly.

The next major step would be to give the same option to the crew. Especially, the folks who work the outside / pool areas. "The decision to wear a mask covering when onboard is at the discretion of each guest."...careful now, seems like common sense may be prevailing.
Funny how you see near full stadiums (indoor/outdoor), concerts (indoors/outdoors), with people elbow to elbow...screaming, chanting, etc...and the large majority without masks....and yet some cruise goers get bent out of shape if they are within an arm's reach of someone without a mask.

What If my wife doesn’t go?

The taxes/port fees as well as gratuities would be more for 2 guests compared to selecting a room for 1 guest. If she did not go on the cruise, I am not positive if the extra $$$ spent on the taxes/port fees and gratuities are refunded (maybe a more season cruiser could weigh in on that). The other potential option would be to book as 1 and perhaps be able to add her to the booking (if you talk her into it). I believe the room rate you booked at would be available for a second guest and then at that point you would pay for the extra port fees/taxes, etc.
