We plan on taking the ferry and doing a tour of the Bacardi factory upon arriving in San Juan. Can anyone recommend a place to get a quick bite to eat near the ferry landing? Or...do they serve food at Bacardi?

We will be debarking Oasis (usually early) and don’t have a flight out of MIA until 2.   Suggestions ?   Never been to Miami before and would hate to not take advantage of the opportunity!   Main issue I see (besides not knowing where to go) would be our luggage.   It doesn’t look like Luggage Express is available for MIA from Oasis.   Brunch suggestions with a water view would be great too.   TIA !

Looks as if Coconuts is right in between two water taxi stops. Just can’t quite tell exact distance, would it be easily walkable?

Anyone with experience with UberXL in Ft. Lauderdale ? We’ve had great luck with the standard Uber, but this time will be traveling with another couple and probably four or so suitcases so I feel like we’ll need the XL. Just wondered if the availability is good or more likely to have to wait longer?

Our plan is to ride the water taxi the evening before our cruise. Any suggestions for restaurants that have outdoor water view dining along the route?

And, as long as I'm asking.....suggestions for walkable breakfast or lunch places along 17th Street. Staying at Hilton Marina....

Thanks for coming back and sharing your day with us. Reading about someone enjoying a day on St. Maarten is almost as good as being there myself. 😀 Some things make me miss it more than others and since pastries at Serafina's is a ritual for us today I am missing it a lot.

 

Many people walk to Back St from the pier to catch the bus. It's a 15-20 minute walk.

How often does the bus run?

Was this Priceline or Hotwire? This is the hotel I'd most like to get !

Last fall on Oasis, we got our chips and guacamole "to go" and took to the piano bar. Looked like a few folks were trying to order "what they have" !

We used Uber last fall to get from port to airport. Waited maybe 10 minutes tops (if that) and cost was around $8. Super easy.

For those who have cruised Carnival too....Have you found a drink on Royal similar to Carnival's "Fun Ship" ?

I thought I was just being too picky! Never got a decent one on Oasis. And frankly, the bartenders as a whole were a disappointment. We usually find one or two that we really like and remember our name etc.... On Oasis, most seemed to be uninterested in their job.

I'm hoping it was just the ship and that Harmony will be different.

We are bringing either mix or spices, etc with us this time. Just hate that it's necessary!

Just wondering how much time to allow for a Wonderland dinner. I'm booked at 8, but have Comedy Club at 10:30. Wll that work? We will be on Harmony.

Thanks for the info! We're good with walking so I think we will do fine at any of those hotels. Looks like crossing 17th street could be a challenge....but we will just be cautious.

I know there are numerous threads about this. But suggestions would be helpful. Would like to stay either on 17th St., walking distance to grocery store or total wine or at the Riverside Hotel. However, we would like to be near a water taxi stop as well. Any suggestions on Priceline bidding to get one or the other locations? Will the Priceline "Name your own price" bidding for "cruise port/downtown" give me only the above options?

We are looking at a 10:30 to 11:00 am flight. And we typically use the self disembark option.
