  1. I was on the same cruise and agree with most of what the OP said. Haven't been on Carnival for awhile and was very pleased with the way everything was, even the elevators. We had to wait no longer than 3 or 4 minutes and that was rare. From previous reviews, I was a little worried about the food but I thought it was very good. We did the buffet a lot and they had various choices. The Green Ham and Eggs breakfast was a lot of fun for my 8 year old granddaughter. The food at the regular restaurants was hot and various choices. I couldn't believe how fast embarkation and disembarkation. I thought the cruise director, Chris, was a lot of fun and very accessible. We went to see most of the shows in the liquid lounge got there 15 minutes before the show started and got good seats on the main floor. However, the place does seem to have a lot of pillars. Loved the Lip Sync Battle show and the parties in the Atrium. A little disappointed in Grand Turk, we rented a golf cart, drove around and then went back to the beach at the port. Very crowded and the beach wasn't that great. Went to the forts and Old San Juan. Although it was hot but very pleasant walking around the city. We also did the snorkeling at Amber Cove. It was an interesting drive to the catamaran but the snorkeling was very good. I would recommend the Horizon to anyone and would do it again. It was great to have 4 sea days!

  2. I sailed on the POA last August, and I agree with all the comments others are making. However, Howl at the Moon stayed open till about midnight and was extremely entertaining. It's two piano players who take requests from the audience. Great entertainment. The last night of the cruise, other entertainers from other shows came on and sang. We spent three nights there.

  3. Going on the Pride of America, sailing Aug 19 and have been doing tons of planning but beginning to have overload. Have plans for every place but Kauai. Have rented a car but would love to go to a luau Thursday night since we will be going back to New Jersey in a couple of days. My question is what is the best luau in Kauai? We are doing Paradise Cove in Honolulu but would like to do one more or is it is overkill? Any other suggestions on what to do and where to do when we do have a car. Nothing too strenuous since we are are two 65 + women.
